Strong chance. 6th man is not that easy to get and I'm not sure Lin can sustain this high level given his past inconsistencies. I say trade him as soon as possible while his stock is high.

I do not want Lin to get the 6th MOTY award or even be a candidate. Can you imagine the hate and all the talk of how Stern wants more Asian votes. And in response, a legion of Lin fans going crazy. I want Lin to fly right under the radar while being the true 6th MOTY or, as he should be imo, the young dynamic starting pg next to an efficient top sg in the league.

Agreed, especially with the bolded part. Maintaining that 66 TS% would be a dream come true, but we can't expect that to continue, nor is it necessary. The list of players who have maintained that kind of shooting over a whole season with that many attempts at the guard position is very, very small.

Just keep doing what he's doing and he's got as good a shot as any to take home the 6th man award.

    Which inconsistencies?

He shot close to 40% from behind the arc the entire last half of last season from the All Star Break onward.

He's shooting 45.5% from the 3 point line this season.

Sounds like consistently in the 40%+ range right now to me... or are you saying the first half of last season when he was recovering from knee surgery tells us more about his shooting than the 2nd half of the season, this year's pre-season, and 8 games this year?

Or are you referring to his improvement in his left hand? He didn't have a good left hand last year, so this year's left hand driving and shooting is an anomaly?

Or perhaps you meant his improved defensive play?

Or are you saying that at the age of 25 playing only his second full season that he's not going to further improve from here? Or perhaps you think he should have fixed ALL his weaknesses from last year in ONE off season?

    What exactly are you saying?

Everything in your post sounds good except the last bit. You only wanted Lin to succeed so you could trade him?

James Harden in OKC, Manu Ginobili, Steve Nash? I can't think of many more that maintained TS% in the mid 60s.

I wish that were true, especially for Parsons, but Lin tends to hang his head when he misses a cpl open ones. He doesn't have that "i'll hit every shot" mentality, but then he's not a shooting guard, so it's not exactly unexpected.

Maybe I'll do a breakdown of how Jeremy didn't shoot enough 3's again. He obviously did a much better job of taking 3's, but off the top of my head, he passed up seven 3's and turned it over 3 of those times.

I'm not blaming him for the loss or saying he had a bad game. But his 3pt shooting decision making is just horrible. And the reason it's horrible is because he's been such a dominant 3pt shooter so far, and he won't FULLY utilize this weapon. It's ridiculous for any top 3pt shooter to constantly pass up 3's.

Are you really complaining about him NOT taking enough 3s tonight? You do realize this is the 2nd OT game they played in a row and Lin has been playing heavy minutes. You can't make 3s when your legs are shot. Tonight of all night you should not whine about Lin not taking enough 3s. He took and made plenty. If he took more AFTER his legs where gone we'll start complaining about him do a tmac jacking up shots.

If a team leaves a 40% shooter open 100 times from 3pt range, then that player should shoot it 100 times.

Lin was clearly open from 3pt range at least 7 times, where he passed up the obvious 3pter, only to create a worse shot or opportunity for his team. If I can get a copy of the game later, and if I have time, I'll do a breakdown for you guys.

So yes, he should've taken around 20 3pt shots today. I know that sounds high, because in your minds you're not used to that concept. But you shoot 3's if you're open from the 3-line and you're a 40% shooter, which Lin is.

Philly's scouts clearly don't believe Lin is a 3pt shooter. That's why he's so open from there. They would be jumping him more, like Curry, if Lin actually took as many 3's as he should.

So Jeremy needs to jack alot more 3's until the league defenses start to adjust to him.

My agenda is logic and data, and I'm in a secret organization to spread it. Please don't tell people or I'll send the men in suits to your home. By the way, please take off the tinfoil hat, because it's screwing up our tracking devices on you.
