LOL....normally you don't see a backup player being plastered. I think if Lin doesn't go off, Harden will be sorely missed. Also, Bev may have a hard time guarding against WCW (if he does)....that guy has 5 inches advantage over Bev.

In our case, he's not actually a backup player. He's a starter who's humoring everyone by playing 6th man.

Finally. Give the man some rest... he looked like he was going to fall over during the Raptors game the way he was limping around the floor.

And I get that the Knicks game is televised, but I would like to see Harden rest that game too. That gets him 4 days rest until the Denver game. Given how Denver is playing badly as well, I wouldn't mind McHale resting him through that game too since it's a 3 day break after Denver depending on how Harden is looking.

That would give Harden a full week to heal up before we face Minnesota (a legitimate play off team).

Rest up Harden, you deserve it.

I remember them spanking the sixers by 40 or so a few years ago...or maybe my memory is fading.

Agreed. If all the other players are as good as advertised or should be, they should be able to take care of the next four teams without much sweat (without Harden).

I agree. I dont get why they always let players play hurt which just drags the injury out longer. Why not just rest them to they get fully healed. Then they dont have to worry about it anymore.

Because the guy with 10 assisteses is sitting out and the guy with 0 assisteses is taking his place?

Agreed, and when he comes back he doesn't need to play 40 minutes a game either, especially with Lin playing as well as he is.

I find it depends a TON upon the Coach.

You'll never see Pops or Doc burning his players to the ground unless it's absolutely necessary.

Given how long we're locked into Harden and that he's one of the centerpieces of the franchise, it scares me to death when I see his minutes go sky high, especially when he looks injured.

Coaches need to be smart enough to take a lower chance at a win in order to maximize wins during the season. An injured player not only takes longer to heal when you keep playing them, but you increase the risk of additional injuries as they try to compensate, leading to even longer periods of sub-par performance.

That said, I think some coaches are a bit too old school ("In MY day, we played with 2 broken legs and a bad back!"), and in other cases are so worried about keeping their jobs that they're willing to over gamble with their players' health.

Sure, it might get you a few more W's in the short run, but it doesn't mean squat if you play yourself out of the playoffs or a good seed in the longer run.

Dwight had more assists than our two point guards combined, Lin and Bev need to look to pass and set up more

I dont think Harden will be needed in this game. the Rockets should take the lead early and hold them off. sixers lack veteran experience to make late game runs. This should be a good test for the Rockets to show some killer instinct and also to see us battle through Hack-a-Dwight, because it will be used.

Which is funny, cause you'd think Coach would know about how playing through an injury can mess you up for life.

Considering that our "veteran experience" is Howard. I wouldn't say we're better off in that area.
