____________________ Hey guys, my son came home from school and was astonished by what he had seen at school. It seems that one of his teachers was speaking to his class and would occasionally turn around and write something on the chalkboard, nothing impressive there. What got my sons attention is that he noticed that every time his teacher would write, he would change hands. It appears his teacher is ambidextrous. No one in his class had noticed this because his hand writing was identical from both sides and he didn't appear to have any difficulty writing either way, he did it so effortlessly that nothing appeared out of the norm. Hearing this I thought it might be interesting to see how the lefty vs. righty are represented on CF's, and if perhaps there is an ambidestric among us. Please post what side you are (left/right), and participate in the poll... (P.S) Here is some interesting info about ambidestric people... http://mentalfloss.com/article/30667/11-facts-about-ambidextrous ....... ....... .......
Speaking of which, "The Stranger" beer made by Left Hand Brewery does last a long time. And it has one of the more disturbing, yet funny, logos ever. get it...left hand is the stranger
Interesting article. I am somewhat ambidextrous but write right handed. I think that might have more to do with that it is easier to write right handed and as a child my parents made me use my right hand more than my left. I can write left handed though if need be and do most other things left handed. In fact there are a few things that I do better left handed than right handed. When I played baseball I could hit for power better right handed but for contact better left. When I played basketball I drove much better to the left than to the right. Also since I separated my right shoulder, the first time about 10 years ago, I do martial arts almost all left handed.
I am generally a lefty when it comes to writing, though I can write legibly with both. I play most sports right handed primarily, though I throw a frisbee with either, preferring left. I paint with either. I use a computer with the mouse on the right. The one thing that's odd about it to me is that while I can do some things with either, I have a preference with most things, and when I try something new, I am never really sure what handedness I will be comfortable employing.
Mixed handedness, Play pool lefty, golf lefty, brush teeth lefty, cut food lefty, but most stud right
Lol at the negativity attached to it in that article. Also forgot to mention, play guitar righty, and have no trouble really playing a righty upside down, aside from chord positions that don't play along
Funny you should say that, when my son played baseball (he's a righty) I would always make him bat left. He actually became a pretty good left handed hitter and still prefers batting left to this day. I often wonder if he would of been an even better hitter, had I just left him alone and let him bat from his normal right handed side... ....... ....... .......
I use my mouse right handed but can use it just as well left handed. The problem though is that a lot of the buttons, keyboard macros are set up for right handed. This is a problem with being left handed is that a lot of things are set up, including how we write, for right handed.
Batting seems to be one of the easier things to do either handed but I don't know enough about baseball to know how much of a difference it makes to bat with your natural side. I don't play baseball or softball much anymore but this year I played a softball for the first time since I really messed up my right shoulder. I had a lot of trouble hitting right handed but found it much easier to swing left.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder brah, hope it eventually feels/gets better! ....... ....... .......
Yes. Most righties, I think, have no idea how much our world is geared around them. Some things you overcome, some things you learn to do with your other hand. I always hated the desks in college classes that had the arm rest (place you rest your arm as you write on tiny desks) on the right side, then the one or two lonely desks to the side in the very front or very back that were geared toward lefties. I once was better at using my computer lefty, but it's such a pain to deal with I have completely gone righty there.
Thanks but it pretty much is chronic at this point. I separated it the second time when I was 36 and at that point knew my competition career was pretty much over so I didn't get it operated on. I still do martial arts but do most of it left handed otherwise can function daily without a problem. I still might need to get it operated on at some point if it gets to the point if it gets worse and limits my daily activities.
Nonsense, I know a guy who'll fix you right up... Spoiler Spoiler Sorry, couldn't help myself... I do hope you feel better!! ....... ....... .......
