I'm an RN, so I've had tons of female bosses. By and large, they've all been great. Then again, nursing is a predominantly female profession, so I'm sure there is some psychological/sociological pressure to perform in other, male-dominated fields that just doesn't exist in the nursing world. Then again, men do seem to steer clear of most of the catty drama. So, there's that.
Doesn't matter to me. I've never had a bad boss. Now for co-workers, I prefer females 80% of the time.
Depends on the person had good and bad. Currently a female boss that is great but gets overly emotional and takes things too personal. As a boss I think it also depends on the person and I don't prefer male or female coworkers. Women however are typically much more emotional and always looking to vent and gossip.
Every time a woman boss thinks she has to prove herself to me, I (metaphorically) spit in her face. She will back off, and I will go on with my work.
