The other thing people forget about is the first 2 hours the wind blows one direction then does a complete 180 and comes from the opposite direction. Any weakened structure from the first half of the storm is going to come down when the wind switches direction.
it's not stupid. OP I quoted was saying the Filipinos in their current demolished, emotionally tattered state should focus their limited energies so destructively and raid a church. that is american hoodlum like behavior. 3rd world poor people are more emotionally intelligent out of need. why would they have time/energy/resource to do such a frivolous thing?
Also, only Americans have the time/resources to offer aid to every country that gets hit by a natural disaster.
not true indeed.... if you're monitoring on FB, the whole world is helping, you will see and feel love... everyone is giving and helping.. money and services. but not sure if below is true... http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/focus/11/12/13/chinas-meager-aid-ph-could-dent-image
I found this quote particularly troubling. [rquoter]Comments on Sina Weibo, China's version of Twitter, overwhelmingly opposed China giving aid to the Philippines. "For God's sake, give them nothing," wrote one user. "We've given them enough in the past."[/rquoter] I know many countries offered aid to China when the Sichuan Earthquake struck even countries like the US and Japan that have strategic rivalries with the PRC.
This is a pretty ignorant statement. A lot of people in the Third World do very destructive things, so do Americans. There isn't a monopoly on emotional intelligence among either groups.
Philippines is one of them. Have even sent medical mission (I won't mention even bigger donation). They have effectively declared "war" of some sort. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactions_to_the_2008_Sichuan_earthquake
