Performance when they still have Newton playing RT? Bullock kicking FGs? Marciano coaching 2nd teams? No, I don't think it is as much about performance. It's not like we were going any where, season is done.
Newton and Harris are sharing time, who do you want to replace them with? Reed has a replacement. They have some odd belief in Bullock, or they don't want to pay a million for a kicker no one else wants to "save" a lost season. WTF is 2nd teams?
Maybe they are just doing him a solid and letting him catch on with a contender. Not sure why he would deserve a solid, but it's just a thought.

If you read that really quickly it looked like "The Houston Texans have released Arian Foster" I had to do a double take and re-read.
The amount of crap pro teams are willing to put up with is directly proportional to how good of a player you are. If you are a ranked with the bottom 10 scrub safeties in the league, and use a freaking walker in the locker room, you don't have a long leash. So arguing if he was cut because he sucked or because he was a malcontent is foolish.
there is no argument, he was cut because he spoke publicly. if his words didn't sting it would be no issue, but the truth hurts. there are other players who suck, make much less, who have no experience or sb rings, literally bring nothing to the table. they still around...
Newton is a 7th round pick they are hanging onto for some reason. I don't know who they should replace him with, but there is SOMEONE better out there than him. I know that. Harris is better and they still mostly share snaps for whatever reason. It is also funny that they expected a 7th round pick to be good enough to start there and he sucked last season too. As always the coaching staff takes WAY too long to adjust. I mentioned Marciano, I meant special teams.
He sucked prior to this weekend and kept his mouth shut and still had a job. Then Sunday he points out that the coaching staff sucks and he is released. I get your point, but the timing is too much of a coincidence..... Really a no win situation for the Texans. They release him and it highlights one more failure by the organization. They keep him and he opens his mouth again and it just keeps lingering.
Was he playing well defensively against Baltimore? Seattle? San Francisco? St. Louis? Kansas City? Indy? Yet he is magically cut 2 days after criticizing the coaches after the Arizona game....
