It was done before the Toronto game. Morey mentioned the team being 4-3.

The main takeaway is that Daryl says they can live with (most of) the offensive issues of a Howard-Asik lineup, but that lineup needs to create a major rebounding edge, and so far it hasn't. This interview looks to be before last night's game took place.

Agreed. The Twin Towers concept was going to have issues offensively, but if it isn't going to bring with it big time defensive and rebounding advantages then it is worthless.

Morey about to show the world he's on John "Hot Plate" Williams' level.

TT doesn't work offensively. And defensively it won't help us that much.

I don't have any numbers to support this, but we seem to give up a healthy amount of offensive rebounds. We are #1 in the NBA in total rebounds, but that's just a consequence of always having one of Dwight or Asik on the floor.

Pause your popup blocker, most ESPN videos require me to pause my popup blocker.

I knew it wasn't just me. I never checked the stats, but I'll get frustrated during games over the amount of offensive rebounds the Rockets have been giving up.

And nobody has really talked about it, so I figured maybe I was just expecting perfection so it appeared they were giving up a lot of offensive boards.

Wrong stat. Here is the correct one: http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2014.html

The Rockets are 21st best in Defensive Rebound %, which is the relevant number. Still below average, but not the worst.

The number you cited is inflated because (1) the Rockets play at a high pace, and (2) the Rockets have held opponents to a low FG%, thus leading to a very high # of opponent missed shots, which are opportunities for offensive rebounds.

This has been a strangely bad DReb% performance so far for this team, given the personnel. The 2012-13 Rockets were one of the very best DReb% teams in the NBA, and even 2012-13 Lakers were also above average. Dwight Howard's Orlando teams also tended to be very good in DReb%. Also, both Dwight and Omer are getting a high #, and high % of defensive rebounds.

It's something to watch. It seems that the other guys on the team have to crash the board harder and work harder to block guys out on the defensive end.

i didn't check both links. i think he is talking about offense rebound. you are using defense rebound data.

He asked for opponent's offensive rebounds. Rockets are the worst at giving up offensive rebounds.

Pretty sure (1- Defensive Rebound %) is opponents' offensive rebound rate.

I can't believe all this TT madness is because the analytics showed that Asik and Taj Gibson did well together in their limited time together in Chicago against 2nd units.
