wonderful idea for high maintenance people. I myself could care less what it looks like. If this works 100% of the time then it'll get very popular around the world in no time.

Nice! Now the bicycle riders can look good while they weave in and out of traffic, run red lights, and cause traffic delays!

Don't forget engage in high risk night rides in areas where there are plenty of intoxicated drivers.

Yeah, good luck trying to sell that very thick scarf/bulky turtleneck where it's hot.

In before "Why aren't they in the kitchen making the guys in suits a sandwich" comments. :p

Not bad... must be perfected. I wonder what triggers it.

You retain more heat from wearing a helmet than wearing a bulky turtleneck. So if it's not too hot for a helmet then I don't see the problem. If you're not going to wear a helmet because it's too hot then you wouldn't have bought this anyway.

And who can forget Critical Mass where for one night a month they decide to break every traffic law they can to promote bicycle awareness and piss off every driver in the city?

Of course it doesn't work all of the time. It only works for the specific accidents where the impact will happen a long time after the event that triggers the airbag to deploy. There is a reason cars use a chemical reaction (instead of gas compressed in a cylinder) to inflate bags and that is because it is incredibly fast, 20ms or so. Helmets are obviously instant, cheaper and "deploy" 100% of the time.

If you are incredibly cautious it might be a good supplement to a helmet if you can be bothered to wear it and spend that much for one.

That isn't even trying to replace a full face crash helmet. We are talking about foam bicycle helmets with HUGE vent holes.

I really didn't like that video, product aside. We're women, we can invent stuff, blah, blah. Just show us the f'ing product.

As for the product, I'm not sold. It looks more uncomfortable than a helmet to me, and kind of not necessary. I'd rather wear a helmet. To be clear, I don't have any hair, so for people with hair and concerned about hair, yeah... maybe this is preferable... I don't know...

It's just for people with enough sense to not ride their bikes near falling rocks, I think.

if a chick accidentally wears that scarf upside down, it'll really protect her melons in a fall
