Actually, he probably will, if he is truly given the "Manu" role (30 minutes + a game, a key cog in the offense, finishes games) and is treated as part of a de facto Big Three or Big Four by the team. This guy is loyal to a fault fortunately / unfortunately. Might even return for less than his market value.

No way, listen to his interviews. He's not happy here, he wants to be a starter. The only way he's staying is if he is the starter and McHale isn't the coach.

He left NY. He will take the most money (which is not a criticism as most players do. Especially this early in their career).

He left New York? I thought New York forced him to test the market and Morey did a desperate "pay him the money" move to prevent New York from matching.

I mean, seriously, get your damn facts right before you embarrass yourself any further

If Lin could play like this more consistently we'd have our big 3.

So what the graph and comments mean is that Lin is better than Chris Paul?!

    Cool story.

Nobody, not even Lebron can play this efficiently "consistently" -- 10/17 31 pts 50% 3's. Those are unsustainable numbers even for Larry Bird. So please be realistic.

Rockets, please don't pick up the team option on Lin. Let Lin leave. Please.

I don't think he can sustain this but it shows that he's has potential and is no where near his ceiling.

Lin over the summer seems to have done everything the Rockets coaching staff asked. 43% on threes, 67% TS. I personally have been very impressed by his progress. Lin may soon be a really really good PG/SG in the NBA. Should he be starting? I don't know - coaching staff decision. But Bev is stinking up the joint now. Perhaps Lin, Casspi and Garcia should be on the court with Howard and Asik? Best current three point shooters and the best paint defense.

Lebron shot 56% and 40% from three. He is doing even better this year.

he always has to change his game, NY p&r attack style, came to houston to do the same then when harden came he was more of a spot up PG, now this year they want him to attack as 6th man just worry about scoring. Harden since he has been in the league job is to just score, howard job has not changed either just get rebounds finish around rim & protect is. Once mchale or another coach figures out how to use his strengths in a system that will help the team he can be that big 3 player. But morey is on record this week saying lin is 2nd scoring option with this team already and is the go to guy, if harden is having a bad night or is out.

No, he has not been playing anywhere close to Paul's level. But he has been shooting more efficiently over an eight-game stretch. It's an encouraging sign. But there is no way he will sustain this over a full season. That said, I think his assist rate should rise from where it is now.

what has he said in interviews that would make people believe he is unhappy? I think he stays. he is good at basketball and marketable. crazy that some people think Lex would trade that without getting a star player in return.

Lol, he already led harden in all star votes when he was sucking. Imagine, if he was shooting up 4 more fgs and getting 3.4 points off them? the rest of the nation would be on his jock.

Lin put in all the work over the summer and good to see it pay off. OTOH Bev has been stinking it up. Like I have always said, his energy and hustle are best used off the bench. He has zero offensive game and when his 3's are not falling, he looks lost out there

And you call yourself a rockets fan? At least get your rockets facts straight. He took the ONLY offer he got.

Well technically you're right. Ny did make him a qualifying offer of 1.2 mil. He should've taken that.

I can bet you that if given a consistent role as starter or part of big three permanently as a 6th man, and we're sniffing championships? He will stay, and for less. This guy turned down well over 8 figures in endorsement during linsanity. He drives a free Volvo. He carries a laundry bag instead of lv bag when traveling. He's got more than he will ever need, and not everyone gets a chance at a title.
