Why give lin the ball to shoot the last shot then????????? because the ball will move? If harden is the best one on the team to make a game winner, then why give the ball to someone else?

Harden definitely played much better D today. But can he keep it up for the rest of the season?

I think you have a hard time with reading comprehension.
Your first post in this thread was that Lin couldn't post those numbers without Harden. Posters including me said you are wrong. Those same posters, including me said no such thing about Lin should always take the last shot. I even stated that our best ball handler, Harden, should control the offense at the end of the game however he needs to do a better job of it.

I was sure we were talking about offense and who should have the ball with time running down. I didn't know we needed to talk about defense.

This is the best answer. Initiate an actual play, and either have Lin start the possession, or Harden assuming that McHale can reign him in so he doesn't ISO against crazy opposition.

Like a pull up jumper with 3 defenders in the face is NOT ideal.

I don't care WHO takes the last shot, as long as it's one of our better players and it's open.

Stop reading between the lines. You are just as dumb as anyone else if you really think his linsanity stretch wasn't a one time thing. Look I'm not saying Lin is a **** player. I want him to succeed just as I want the rockets to succeed. You are failing to realize Lin came in with NY with no tape/footage on him. Once teams scouted him, he wasn't putting up near the numbers. Then he got hurt. Last year he was a top 15 PG. That's all he is. Injury or not.

Well not really they both still not top defenders. It is just effort and being focus.
Harden's defense lacks whenever he is watching the game of defense. He looks at the ball like a fan on the stands and loses his man. Both if he focuses and gives an effort he is decent and Lin too. He does get distracted but his defense can improved.

Stop trying to speak for them. They have been arguing that lin should have the ball. Harden fed lin a lot tonight because of the attention he commanded. Im not sure if you watched the game or just looked at the box score, but anyone who watched the game could clearly see that.

Did you not watch the game tonight or something

Harden gets too much attention from the D sometimes in crunch time that his shots becomes really forced. I wouldn't mind Lin taking a portion of clutch shots because Harden commands so much from the defense Lin can have a easier shot scoring.

It's not a black and white thing though, so i don't know why you are so worked up. the mavs let Terry take clutch shots all the time, even though Dirk is clearly better on offense. It depends on matchups, hot hands etc. hell I would even let Parsons take the last shot depends on matchups.

No the point is people are saying Harden is a superstar and therefore MUCH better than Lin who is "above average" at best Which I will agree. Harden is of course the better player but that's completely due to his offensive game. I don't care what people say but if you are as bad of a defender as Harden, there's no way you're a superstar.

I think he was probably 15-20 range.

I think he can get to top 15 and have a solid average line this season.

You should read more than just one post. Harden gave the ball to lin more than a few times tonight. Lin was open for 3s and able to drive in because of the attention Harden commanded. Lin got to hit some clutch shots.

Dirk Nowitzki, no defense, pure offense. And did you not see Harden today, solid D. Other than the Clippers game his d has been on par.

Lin is a top 15 pg, but still not close to Harden's level who got voted #1 sg. Give Lin time and he might get in that top cluster of pgs

My opinion both are capable of making the shot. Normally i would pick harden but if Lin has the hot hand you can use him too. The last shot isnt set in stone, honestly i would want the team to move teh ball and find teh open man.

quotes of other members in this thread that said Lin should be the one controlling the ball. Lets be realistic. In an 82 game season Harden will not ALWAYS be ideal to control the ball due to fatigue etc and Lin would be the second man up. Either way the entire point is Harden needs to make quicker decisions down the stretch instead of ball faking and dribbling for 20 seconds and passing it to a covered Lin/Parsons etc. Even Bill Worrell mentioned in this specific game that Harden has a bad habit of doing that.
