Great knowledge, thanks JBar. After hearing those stats, I'm sold on the Anderson deal. I'd even be okay if they threw Jones to the Pelicans to make it happen. I like the idea of Howard backed up by Smith and Anderson backed up by DMo, with DMo trying to grow into stealing away Smith's minutes and then eventually making Anderson expendable. That would be optimal anyway -- but if not we have the apparent ideal player to put along side Howard.
It's going to be hard to get a star in return for Asik and pieces. Ryan Anderson played really well as a full time starter next to Howard. He had a PER of 21.23 and a TS% of 58.9%. Those are Steph Curry numbers when it comes to efficiency. Anderson also averaged 7.7 rbs that year. Unless we are able to grab someone like LMA, Horford or Love we aren't going to get a much better 4 to put next to Howard. I'm not saying it's a deal that has to be made but I wouldn't be upset at all if it was.
I think he would be a great fit, and his overall production is very underrated. 2009-10 Per 18.1 2010-11 Per 19.0 2011-12 Per 21.2 2012-13 Per 18.1 He rarely turns the ball over (2011-12 & 2012-13 he was 4th in the league in turnover %), and was 18th in offensive win shares. Of course, his best year, 2011-12, was next to D12: 6th in Offensive rebounds 6th in Offensive win shares 9th in Win shares 4th in Offensive rating 13th in True shooting percentage 7th in Free throw percentage If he could come close to repeating this, I would love to have him back, even at the cost of Asik, although I would hope for a pick or two in return.
I would do Asik and James Anderson for Ryan, Jason Smith and a 2nd rd pick. Then sign brewer and call it an offseason.
I would do Asik, James Anderson, D-Mo for Ryan Anderson and Xavier Henry (S&T) and a 2nd rounder. Honestly, I am not sold on Donatas. But I am on Terrence Jones. I believe he could contribute in a deep playoff run when nobody expects him to.
Is Davis being groomed into a Duncan/KG/Pau PF/C or do they see him as a pure center? I had figured he was a PF/C who would basically play PF his entire career ala Timmy D. was surprised that the Pelicans forum had as much/more people opposed to the trade than clutchfans.
He's more of a PF than a C but he could play either in today's NBA. I don't think Asik gets enough respect amongst fans. He would be perfect next to Davis. Davis could save his body from the banging against big guys like Gasol/Howard/Bogut etc. Davis has a pretty light frame and would benefit greatly from avoiding that pounding.

DMo doesn't even know how to go to war yet. Not impressed with his showing this season. He needs to be more willing to learn, lose the ego and remember that he's still not on the same level of Patrick Patterson. He has potential, so it seems, but I don't find his abilities or skillset to be anything spectacular. It's early though, so maybe with more time. Still, I would take PatPat back in his spot any day of the week for the next 4 years.
This is going down in the next month. Expect Parson's to be replaced with a more agile, defensive oriented player to compensate for a terrible defensive backcourt. Not worth the new contract. PG situation is not as severe as it's made out to be.
Holy cow did you just say James Anderson??? Dude, are you lost in a timewarp or something? Welcome to 2013
Your hospitality for time travelers is appreciated, but you could just check the date of that reply....
