not only raw but wrong. pass rate did not show how long the guy hold the ball. if one hold the ball for 20s then pass it out every time then he pad 100% pass rate in this chart, a lot of guys in this tread would think he is a perfect passer.

who said he was useless?

he was perfect for the Celtics style of play. with Bird the playmaker, Ainge the outside shooter, DJ the stopper, Parish manning the middle, Mchale was the ultra reliable low post scorer.

tough though if the team's playmaker is also the one handling the ball for 15 out of the 24 seconds of the shot clock, or is the one hoisting up most of the shots.

there's a difference. my point was that Mchale either allows it or can't stop it.

The list is anyhow telling. None of these guys are ball handlers. Harden is the primary ball handler on our team and is on this list. Take away the catch-and-shoot guys on this list and Harden is the ISO KING.

To be fair, you should read the actual article.

They specifically define pass rate, and more importantly context.

IE, toss out those that are finishers who only mainly receive the ball when they are expected to shoot.

The one thing that the stats point out is that Harden is the only primary ball handler (PG role) that would fall on that list. In other words, he looks mainly for his own shot.

For some reason James hasn't been sharing the ball like he did last year. This team as a whole hasn't been sharing the ball as it did last year. Way too much ISO for everyone.

Guys simply aren't making shots consistently and on offense there has been countless turnovers while guys like Lin try to pass the ball or Howard tries to catch it in the post or runs out of bounds.

 

wrong way to go about the posting bashing harden, but truth is he is the only PG "primary ball handler" on the list. People say ohhh durants on the list etc fail to reealize that his job to catch shoot get buckets & that is hardens job as a "shooting guard"

problem with this is he runs the offense here in houston he is mostly the point guard, so thats a major concern with him not passing the ball as much. The mian concern is not him as a player it is the system that he is in.
