Splitter is a PF/C. Because Duncan has better range on his shot, Splitter was utilized mostly as a center. However, with Howard, Splitter would be a solid stretch power forward and could move over to center when DH rests.
I don't think it would take Asik to get him, but would anyone else be interested in Andrew Nicholson? The Magic are supposedly open to moving him (there were talks that he may have been offered with picks in a package deal for Eric Bledsoe). I think he'd be a better fit next to Dwight than DMo or Jones. He's an excellent catch-and-shoot big who shot over 43% from the 3-point line his senior year at Bonaventure, and last year shot over 54% from 10-15 feet and 44% from 16-23. Kind of similar to PPat or a poor man's Chris Bosh.
I'm having a difficult time convincing myself that the available PFs save for Aldridge and maybe Ryan Anderson are going to be better than Terrence Jones. I don't think Terrence Jones is a full season away from being a sure NBA starter.
I think out of all the impact players out there, Chris Bosh may be the one for the taking. As in availability.. The Heat need a rim protector BADLY. that's where Omer comes in. But what makes this a possibility is the Heat could actually use Jeremy Lin as well. Salaries match. we may have to give Miami a second, or maybe even a first, because they are moving the impact player. I guess the real question would be, do we even want Bosh? He has won his two titles. Hes been on top of the world in Miami. Do you think he would even be motivated? OR maybe he would be out to show everyone who he is? Who knows. Still don't see Miami breaking things up. But it really fits both teams well.
salaries don't match with lin and asik. bosh has some trade kicker that makes his salary to from 20mm to 22 or something like that.
Look at the drop in Ryan Anderson's shooting. Those are career lows for him. http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3412/ryan-anderson
That is not a fair package for Asik. Bass + Green for Asik plus something would be worth considering immediately .. though who knows how the Celtics really feel about Green at the moment... and Asik plus (Dmo, Jones, Canaan, draft picks) might not be that attractive
1. Bosh would be the best fit other than Love, but Miami is unlikely to trade him 2. LMA would be a pretty good fit, but he's not worth giving up Parsons or Beverley in the deal, so I'm not optimistic about our chances of getting him 3. Millsap would be a good fit who could possibly be obtained for only Asik; he can't guard centers though, so he limits our defense when Dwight is on the bench 4. Ilyasova would be an excellent fit but I doubt the Bucks trade him for Asik.about how he comes back from injury 5. Ryan Anderson would also be a good fit, but there are concerns about how he might come back from injury 6. Kris Humphries could be a possibility, he can hit that mid range shot, secure rebounds, and play average D. Dude is kinda cursed though 7. Nene might be a guy I could see us going after, he can defend both the 4 and 5 and he can hit the mid range J 8. Gallinari is another possibility, depends on how he comes back from injury and what Denver would want for him (if they even intend to make a trade) 9. Andrea Bargnani could be a dark horse candidate if he picks up his play as the season goes on; he used to be an Anderson/Ilyasova type player, dunno what happened to him tl;dr There are a ton of power forwards out there Morey could trade for, so it seems like if he wants to make a change it shouldn't be too hard at the deadline
I don't know the numbers, but does Asik and Lin/or Bev for Jeff Green works? If Boston is about to blow up the team and starts tanking they might be open up to trading their 2 best players, Rondo and Green.
