Probably a bad idea to play JR Smith for a Sunday noon game. Dude probably stumbled out of the club at 6:30 a.m. The Knicks really have nothing that Houston wants, except maybe Melo. Houston already has the black Iman Shumpert in Patrick Beverley. Also, Morey did not show any interest in Metta in free agency when Metta was available for the minimum.
Spurs are giving the Knicks the worst *ss-kicking I've ever seen this season. Game was over by the start of 3Q. They might just win this game by 30+ points.
What? Jeremy Lin is way better than the PGs they have. Watching Felton and Beno makes me cry. And Shump was pretty horrible this game. He had one job: play defense! Couldn't get it done.
they have absolutely nothing that is worth Omer. No draft picks, no good power fowards, nothing. Shump alone is not worth it.
The scary thing about the Spurs is they can plug in the reserves/newbies for the starters and get similar results against other team's reserves. It's a well-oiled machine, hardly any hiccups. We need to steal a Spurs' assistant (i.e. see Sixers and Hawks).
Words out where? The only reason to package these two is if you are getting huge salary player in return and you need $16.5M in outgoing money to make a mega trade work. Otherwise, there is no reason to trade Lin for salary relief since it doesn't create any flexibility to sign anybody anyway.
^ Words out in the GARM? Something about a Morey interview where the interviewer suggested it and Morey did not deny? And that Jeremy is no good and is redundant? And trading him will provide salary relief for next season. And that the Rockets are tight in money lol...
Ah, GARM. The info must be solid then. The team has little rational reason to seek "salary relief" for the amount of $8.4M for this season or next. Not only will taking $8.4M off the cap do next to nothing for the flexibility right now, it won't do it for 2014-15, either, especially if you are planning on making moves to improve this year's team that would add salary beyond this year. When the team signed Dwight Howard, they didn't do it on the basis of "let's wait a year or two so we can use cap room to make a real contender"-- they are trying to maximize the chance to win right now. As for the Rockets being "tight in money"-- they are paying Luis Scola $7M a year NOT to play for the Rockets. If Asik indeed has positive trade value and Lin has negative trade value under their current salary, then the rational thing to do is to trade Asik for the best value in return and not to waste Asik's value on dumping Lin's salary. Right now, it simply doesn't matter if Lin is overpaid by a couple million dollars a year.
I'm starting to become a K Love fan, if the wolves can be a top 3 seed in the West (which is easily possible) then he should win MVP. 27 and 15 is godlike
