    Harden no mid-range shot.

KMart, missing you...(I never thought I'd say that)

Lol... Op this is a pretty terrible case for whatever point you are trying to make. So he doesn't take mid range shots.... So what? All this shows me is he can get just as much done offensively with only shooting high efficiency shots either at the rim or from 3. You want to make a case about anything, how about pulling up something basketball folks call Statistics.

Love the OPs post. To me it is not surprising but still very informative: He does not take corner 3s.

Isn't it clear what the OP is insinuating? LOL He's implying that the other SGs have a more well-rounded offensive game. But as you just stated he prefers the more high percentage shots. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Tmac is much more versatile, pass better, and can play elite defense. Kmart and harden can't play defense at all. At least kmart tries.

I don't think he is making a point, simply presenting data for us to interpret and discuss

Mid range jumper is the worst shot of them all. Harden rulez for not taking it
If only he knew how to defend

KMart, Kobe and Durant are not showing up.

Interesting Wade's mainly a midrange guy.

There is ALWAYS a point even if not implied. If something here wasn't interesting to him/her it wouldn't have been shared.

That's a great point. The most interesting chart to me was Ray Allen's, the variance of hotspots behind the arch makes it much harder for defenses to scheme against.

The corner 3 is the most efficient spot behind the arch, seems counter intuitive that Harden wouldn't find more opportunities from there.

Just watching the flow of offense, if this team is going to maximize its potential it needs to find James more spot up opportunities while Lin is in the game. That corner 3 looks rather telling as to how that's not happening.

Thanks! Could you post Durant's also?

Interesting Kobe can shoot from anywhere.

The lack of mid-range game isn't because he can't shoot them, it's because he shouldn't since they're inefficient. Our staff doesn't let our players take mid-range jumpers unless absolutely necessary. The lack of corner 3's is because he handles the ball a lot and we have other people there. Not much to see here.

Prime Kobe and Tracy are impressive. Durant's surprised me.. not enough red. He must mostly shoot in specific spots, the red ones.

It'd be interesting to figure out how many of Harden's 3s are his own creation - i.e. stepback 3s at the top. Harden's heatmap supports the eye test of him creating most of his shots.

A less ball dominant SG - like Ray Allen - will probably have more corner 3s.

    You're reading it wrong.

It just means they made shots from everywhere. It doesn't say a thing about their accuracy on those shots.

All it shows us is that (shock horror) the Rockets don't take midrange jumpers, and that James Harden is able to follow coaches instructions to the T.
