As the rockets struggle to beat good teams, the twin towers are just not working they are gonna get hacked at the end of games and the rockets just cant start games off right. Another issue is that they cant close them or sustain leads. My prediction is by feb. Asik will be shipped to Boston for Jeff Green and Olynik. Honestly this trade seems like a no brainer. The athletisim of jeff green is something the rockets lack, that enthusiastic power play hi flying game which fits our run/ gun system well. As well as kelly olynik who is great young big who can have some productive mins when howard is out. Boston picking up Asik is also very good for them. They can have a top 5 center and make room for one of those star forwards in this up coming mega draft. Which can make a great duo in the future.
The last two games were lost in the 4th quarter. In both instances Asik and Dwight did not share a second of floor time together. The issue goes much deeper than just trading Asik.
Here would be our second unit: Greg Smith Casspi Garcia Bev Brooks Yeah, that's a championship second unit right there, both on offense and on defense. Oh, if any of those guys get injured we have Canaan and Covington. Oooooh... Meanwhile we already have two supersized egos in the starting lineup who don't want to share the ball or overexert, and you want to add another one???
How is that trade a no brainer? LOL And Boston is not giving up Green and Olynik. But hey keep on dreaming pimpn.
Asik alone isn't enough to get both of them IMO... But I would love to have Kelly he can play the 4 & 5 and he can stretch the floor. The dude has skills and Olajuwon would work wonders with him. I would trade Asik for Kelly (and whoever they have to add to make the contracts match). That gives the Rockets a big who can play two positions who doesn't have to depend on the pick and roll to score.
Nobody has answered me yet why we'd want Jeff mother'fing Green. Isn't he just Mook Morris with more minutes?
I don't like the idea of adding Jeff Green... and it only helps the Celtics become worse.. next thing you know Celtics have 1st pick and now have Rondo, Wiggins, Asik...
This should be in the random trade thread. Also, why would Boston make that trade? They are rebuilding, why trade their best offensive player for a defensive center?
I don't get it either. Too much cred being given to this idea just because Simmons threw it out there. He'd love for his hometown team to dump Jeff Green. He's constantly hates on the dude (or at least his play), and I don't really blame him.
