If you're gonna hold the entire to that standard, then there are only two great players: Lebron and Durant.

Go down the list of stars. Every one of them has a hole. Chris Paul may be a good flopper and passing lanes guy, but he is a terrible on ball defender and has no size to defend in the paint to boot. Carmelo Anthony is probably just as lackadaisical a defender as Harden, and he is twice as selfish, the very definition of a high volume shooter. Dwyane Wade and Tony Parker cannot shoot threes, period.

Everybody has a weakness. Be a little bit more evenhanded when it comes to our own superstars, because I guarantee you we have two.

You don't put "great" label on anyone who has major weakness in his game. If Harden's defense is up to the average level, I'd put him as "almost great" player, if he can improve to above average, then he is a "great player". You cannot be a "great player" when you are great at half of the game. Heck he makes almost everyone he guarded look like an all-star.

The same goes with Howard. He couldn't even go around Yao who probably had the slowest feet among the big men. You add his liability at the FT line, how can you possibly say that he is a "great player". Had him make 50% of his FT, the Rockets would have won the last game.
