He should be starting alongside Howard - you want to see the team take off, that would do it.

I agree. It may be a little ugly at first, but I think if Dmo gets a comfortable role, he would be perfect next to Howard.

He should order a dream shake (absinthe + chocolate milk).

Remember what happened last time he started? I'm not saying he isn't good enough, but I'll trust the coaches' judgement on this one.

I wish I could say the same thing, but I haven't really seen anything that would cause me to have trust in the coaches to begin with.

All I have to go on at the moment was the preseason and the team looked the best with him on the floor, particularly with Howard, he had some awkward moments, but those get cleared up with playing time.

Honestly, DMo didn't even do anything wrong other than being good during all preseason, to get removed from the rotation.
Smith is even getting some minutes in the rotation, though he looked really poorly during preseason. DMo may look bad during practice I guess (just a wild guess), but who cares as long he looks good during games? I mean come on McHell, give DMo himself a chance to lose his spot in the rotation, don't take it away randomly.

I know which bar Dmo goes, he is a regular over there. Next time I will get him several shots, that will open his mouth.

I think this is one of McHale's flaws. As a young player, if you do something remotely bad on the floor, he loses all trust and confidence in you and it's practically impossible to get it back. That's the type of coach he is. If you're a young player and not some sort of a superstar, chances are you're never going to get any playing time. That's a very different mindset from, say, Gregg Popovich. Pop knows how to use young role players. He gives them trust and in return gets them to become more confident in their game, he makes them play better than they think they can.

Really? McHale played Marcus Morris a ton last season after benching him as a (not very good) rookie player. He then played Motiejunas after Morris and Patterson got traded when Motiejunas couldn't get on the floor to start the season. Greg Smith has also played and even started after being benched for mistakes and bad play for a few games last season (Aldrich replaced him for those games). Young guys have gotten plenty of chances with McHale even after not being good initially.

I doubt that any of these young PFs are doomed forever. Injuries or a trade could open minutes for them and it's up to the player to show they are the best alternative.

Replace McHale with Adelman and you're on to something.

I agree. Tiago looked pretty bad his first few season, and look at him now.
