It's a lot better. It's a suped up original Kinect basically. It's not on par with Kinect 2, but it's high definition. That alone will fix a vast majority of the original kinect's issues -- the low resolution camera sucked. Anyway, I'm not saying out of the box, I'm saying a feature like that could be added later. Again, it's a QR code...an original iphone can scan a QR code.

Damn, I've had no interest in Kinect up to now, but that UI with voice and and Skype integration is very very slick.
Yeah, it does look really nice. Couple more vids on it: http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/11/08/xbox-one-dashboard-walkthrough http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/8/5080874/exclusive-video-xbox-one-dashboard-hands-on-first-look The Verge video shows some "warts" (it has some problems picking up voice commands at times), but I think it is actually more impressive since it clearly wasn't edited/recut to take things like that out. Giant Bomb has some time with the XBO: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/KXwud8fSNhs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Microsoft is hooking me up with a free Xbox1 console and Forza 5 for being a loyal gamer on the 360. Thought it was a scam at first, but looked it up and its definitely legit.
http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/9/5083780/xbox-one-early-pre-order-deliveries Looks like a couple of lucky people got their Xbox One's shipped early.
I think the integration living room control center thing is pretty cool, but not enough to make me get X-one if PS4 has better exclusives games. PS has the Show which is the best baseball game out there. While both 360 and PS3 had Skyrim, the Xbox got expansions quicker and had a better Skyrim experience. To me Skyrim is probably my favorite video game of all times. If they will be of equal quality, then I might get PS4 because of The Show. I don't care about Halo at all. But I do have a minor interest in the new Kinect. The fact that 360 is set up to expand is impressive as well. I'm still going to wait and see what happens with both platforms before shelling out the money.
If that's your biggest concern I believe skyrim online is coming to both platforms. I don't believe there is exclusive content on either side, but if I recall it was shown specifically during the sony presentation at e3. (if thats any indication of which platform they prefer... Or received the most money from)
some guy on twitter got his xbox one 2 weeks early because target messed up, and he was posting a ton of pics, but Microsoft console banned him.
That would be my biggest concern now. It was available on both platforms before but it was preferable on the xbox360 to the PS3. If indeed they are shifting their preference to PS4 and it would be inferior on XB1 then I might switch to become a PS owner. Having that plus being able to play The Show would be a huge plus on the PS4 side. XB1 apps and entertainment living room control is a moderate plus in favor of XB1. Right now it's all just pure speculation. Since I won't be getting either console at launch, I'll have time to wait and see what the reviews are, and if the consoles drop their price at any point.
Not to start a fanboy war here, but I think it's very obvious at this point that PS4 is the more powerful of the two consoles (see most launch games for Xbox One @ 720p...most launch games for PS4 @ 1080p). I think that will really show in MMO games, and games specifically like Skyrim. If you want the media stuff, or Kinect 2 (and I don't blame you in either case), definitely get the Xbox one. If your primary concern is the graphics / framerate in game...I would go with the PS4.
The xbox games being at 720p has nothing do with system power, but the state of the drivers. As the development tools mature, there won't be an issue.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11...+twitter&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social Why is Call of Duty: Ghosts 720p on Xbox One and 1080p on PlayStation 4? "The internet seems to think it’s a big deal," says Rubin. by Daniel Krupa November 4, 2013 Infinity Ward's executive producer Mark Rubin briefly explained last week why there was a disparity in the resolution of Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One (runs at 720p) and PlayStation 4 (runs at 1080p). In an interview with IGN today, Rubin talked more about the difference. “You know, it’s easy to be comparative when you’re looking at both systems," said Rubin. "When you see one out of context from the other I don’t think it’s a big concern. We did our best to make the best looking game on each console, and making sure we nailed down 60 frames per second. That was a key pillar for us." He went on to explain that there's no agenda or definite reason for the difference. “There’s no maliciousness, there’s no specific reason why one’s 720p, one’s 1080p," he said. "That’s just the way the optimisation came out to. To keep a smooth frame rate we needed to be 720p on Xbox One. That being said, it is being upscaled to 1080p, so it is outputting 1080p on your TV, and for the most part the game does look really good. Some people actually think the textures look a little bit nicer maybe on Xbox than they do on PS4. "You’ll hear a bunch of opinions back and forth, but that’s all they really are. They’re opinions.” I asked if Xbox One would achieve 1080p with the next instalment in the series. "Very possibly. We put new technology into this game before we even had the consoles. So we had no idea how well that technology was going to work on the consoles. Now that we are finally getting the consoles we can start optimising those features better. So I imagine... for an example, if you look at Call of Duty 2 over Call of Duty 4, which was our next game, it’s a significant improvement. “The analogy I’ve used in several interviews is… the first game on a console is sort of like a first date. It’s very awkward as you try to learn what each other’s interests are. That’s how making a new game on a console is.” The reason Rubin gives for the difference in resolution, then, is unfamiliar architecture and the optimisation process to maintain that 60 frames per second experience. Ultimately, is it a big deal or not? Does it really matter? Rubin wouldn't be drawn, but he would admit, "The internet seems to think it's a big deal."
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/...free-xbox-ones-copies-of-killer-instinct.aspx I have a pretty massive gamerscore though I will admit, so I am sure that had something to do with getting a free xbox1 console. A few people got the console as well as 7 games, 1 year of live, 1 year music pass. Not bad considering this came out of nowhere. It came in my email and I was shocked, had to do a bit of research to see if it was legit.
