http://www.nba.com/video/teams/rockets/2013/11/07/ZOOM0002MOV-3031117/ http://www.tntdrama.com/sports/nba/ I don't know how to embedded this video. -Demand the Ball, don't ask for the ball. -No commitment to the Post or Pick and Roll.. Players don't think Howard wants the ball due to it. -Needs to get at least 15-20 Shot attempts a game.. (hasn't had any thus far) and It doesn't all have to be from the post. (Can't find this video but watched it this morning for this part) -At halftime, if he doesn't get the ball, he needs to tearr up the locker room.. and kenny said something about hakeem. (Can't find this video but watched it this morning for this part).. If someone can find the whole talk.. Please post here.
Yeah, that wouldn't work because he is so limited offensively, but he should be getting a lot of touches in the post though. Let them see what he can do and how the d will play him because he's going to have some possessions where he can get buckets easily. Inside out basketball can still work with him.
Exactly, They said... Shaq said it Last Year and Again this year... That he should get 3-4 shots from put backs.. Then 5-6 from posting up.. 3-5 from lobs and assists. Something along those lines..
First video is Howard talking and the other didn't work, so we can't see the clip you're referring to.

Okay found out why i was getting the wrong links... Its these two links below. http://www.nba.com/video/channels/tnt_overtime/2013/11/07/20131107-best-inside1.nba http://www.nba.com/video/channels/tnt_overtime/2013/11/07/20131107-best-inside3.nba
What i think is Dwights fundamental problem with getting better at free throws is that he (along with everybody else) wants him to get his percentage upto 60-70%. That's the whole problem with his mentality, he will just keep practiving his screwed up form, trying to just get "practice" to somehow turn into makes. If he set his goal to be like an 80-85% shooter than he would realize that with his current form, getting there is impossible. He's had years to "practice", and he hasn't once stopped and think, "hey, wouldn't changing my form or getting a specialized coach to start my shot from scratch be a good idea?" Dwight is aiming for mediocrity, and he will continue trying to use his mediocre form to try and get there. And tbh, can it really get any worse? A change for the worse for me is preferable to the same old pitifulness
Dwight is not a elite big man and never will be. He is more comparable to a mutombo /rik smits level. He won't ever be a dream Shaq, Ewing, Robonsion or even Yao level.
Yao's FGM is around 15 in his entire career. Howard is 12-13. He must show improvement in his post game first.
In this era of not many great defensive big men... He should be.. Thats what they are trying to get at.
Only because of Yao's fragility and agility. Yao's basketball IQ is way, way better than Howard. I'd take Yao if his ankle/foot isn't injury prone.
The problem is Dwight is not Hakeem or Shaq. He's also no longer in his prime. Still one of the best Center sin the league, but if you watch him now he is not some kind of unstoppable force. Barkley and Kenny talk as if he's at the level of Hakeem or Shaq in their primes but he's no where near that anymore.
He doesn't need to become Olajuwon or Duncan. But there is a problem with the H&H PnR where Howard is not scoring enough off of those plays. It's supposed to be unstoppable, but Harden is wasting these possessions on jump shots off the screen.
pretty much. Dwight was an iron man when these discussions were taking place. Meanwhile Yao was getting more screws in that left foot.
The first thing he needs to do is learn some new post moves. He has one move he uses all the time, and half of the time he tries it, it results in a turnover.
