just shut him down. This season is over. Come back 100% for next year. Also consider shutting down Andre too. He's not getting any younger and we need to keep his legs and ability for as long as possible. Just let Keenum play pitch and catch with Hopkins to develop that chemistry.
??? There is virtually zero benefit to winning games this season anymore. I'm thinking about winning superbowls, getting home field advantage. This season is a complete loss. At least gear up for next year with a higher draft pick.
Ummm... because there is still HALF a season to play? We can squeeze into the playoffs and be a BLACK horse... or keep letting get Keenum his experience... do you want us to just take knees for the rest of the season? I ain't mad at ya... I just wanted to use that smiley.
Tate will soon be over-paid. RB's are the most overrated position to spend big on (draft picks or FA)... especially in this offense.
I would never sign Tate to a long term contract. He's never been able to stay healthy and carry a full time work load. We are stuck with Arian's contract for another year so draft a back in the 3rd or 4th to handle some of the workload the following year.
Yup. Our front office is just terrible. Perfect opportunity to trade Tate a few weeks back while his value was at its all-time highest, but for some reason they are concerned about having a premium backup to rb, while never being concerned about having a decent backup to our made-of-glass qb over the years.
Is this back injury serious? It sounds like it may be a career ending injury. Texans seem to have pretty bad luck when it comes to their recently signed players. Cush signs a 5 year deal, out for season may never be the same again. Django Reed signs 3 year deal, is benched for shiloh keo. Schaub gets 4 year extension, will eventually get cut in the offseason. Now its foster...
Let him rest for the reminder of the season. He deserves it after the beating he's taken over the past couple seasons. Run Tate into the ground and let him go when the season is over
No decent backup qb? Who's the starting qb now? Was he not one of the backup QB's about 3 weeks ago? First off the season is not a complete loss. 10-6 can still get you in the playoffs which honestly is all that matters. From that point on its a new season. I can not believe that so many fans just give up at the first sign of trouble. Its stupid. Second, what you are asking is disrespectful to Andre. He's put in a hall of fame career, and with Case at the helm, he's got a chance for a new career high in several statistical categories. You do not deny him the opportunity to build on his career statistically to try and get a better draft pick one year and hope its some kind of savior. I want to see AJ continue to put up huge numbers, and make a statement this year that even in the later years of his career he is still one of the best WR's to ever play the game. He deserves that right for everything he has been thru and done for this city. His loyalty to this city, which you absolutely do not see most of the time with star players.
yes sit arian for the rest of the season...i wish we could draft a rb like darren sproles to help Arian next season..draft a great defensive player in the top 10...and trade up to get another 1st rounder or hope manziel or some great qb falls to us in the 2nd round...and have a qb competition between that qb and keenum for the spot..
I'm not talking about only this season. I'm talking about every season that Schaub has been here. Remember when Schaub went out for the year two seasons ago and the Texans' brass let that inept rookie attempt to take us to the Super Bowl? Yeah, that was smart. But hell, at least we have Ben Tate for the final 8 weeks of the 2013 season! We'd have probably wasted the 2nd or 3rd rounder that we traded him away for anyway.
