Harden is a supposed superstar. I don't think you can be a superstar without playing decent D. Even Carmelo turns it on when the situation requires it. Not sure why Donuts is even in this poll.
Not at all man. I'm one of the biggest Harden's fans. I just want to gauge people's perception. Is Harden REALLY the worst defender on the Rockets? Or is it only the worst effort?
Harden's off the ball D is atrocious because he lacks fundamental understanding of how to guard his man. Constantly has his head on a swivel, which then goes to ball gazing, which then goes into a "oh damn" moment. He can get better but he really needs to zero in on what he has to do in terms of how to use his vision to see the ball and his man, his positioning and even his stance. So to answer your question, Yes, Harden is our worst defender on our starting line-up. He can get better though, and as I said, he has all the tools to do it.
On ball he's gotten better (hence the block last night on Meeks I think) but off-ball? Insert gif from Blake running past Harden yesterday.
Harden is pretty bad but Parsons needed to be included with this poll because he is not a good defensive player anymore. His man is usually open on a regular basis. Parsons and Harden right now to me are the worse defensive players on the team and the main reason why the perimeter D is horrible. Lin has improved in this area. Other than getting torched by CP3, Lin hasn't been nearly as bad as Harden or Parsons.
Considering the FACT that D-Mo has probably played 5mins all season and is the only Rockets player put by name outside of Harden shows how bad this thread stinks of Harden Hate. Harden is a star. Stars can give you 10 wins a year on talent alone and hitting big shots and taking over in the fourth quarter. But this has got to stop here in Garm. Man! Unreadable.
