Is Jeremy fairly/unfairly being treated as the scapegoat?

I agree with this. It seems to me that Dh12 is just a super friendly guy. I doubt him & Lin are fighting.

A good analogy is Mario Chalmers.

What short fuse said couldn't be any further from the truth, Lin a ball stopper? That's new.

One of Lin's annoying traits is his tendency to dribble or hold onto the ball too long and wasting possessions. He needs to learn how to get rid of the ball earlier, which would also lead to better ball movement and better shot creation. Harden is even more guilty of this. Bev does it the least and is also the best at getting rid of the ball, but his problem is outside of simple passes he can't make plays.

And yet where are the Howard threads about his weaknesses? Pretty sure GARM threads are 75% Lin, 20% Harden, and 5% rest of the roster.

Players always yell at each other on the court. That's how they communicate with each other. Jeremy is a role player, the stars on the team is Howard and Harden. If stars donot play well, teams typically will lose.

    The big issue is that

    1. TT does not fit.
    2. With Howard's FT shooting, game end situation is always a problem,
    3. Harden can't defend well

    My prediction:
    1. Asik definitely will be traded, not sure about Lin. Lin can play off the bench, averaging 30 minutes. Asik is too expensive to be a backup center averaging 10 min.
    2. Rox will always be in the playoff, but won't win a championship because Harden and Howard are flawed star players.

After watching it umpteen times, it has everything to do with how Lin and Beverley were screened. It was a well-executed play by the Lakers. Howard isn't fast enough to challenge the shot, Parsons is guarding the backdoor, and everybody else is on the wrong side of a wall of Laker picks. Maybe if Parsons and Howard switched roles, Parsons could have challenged the shot. But, I don't see any mistakes other than someone thinking that Howard could credibly switch to a guard on the 3-pt line.

D'Antoni knows exactly what Dwight can and can't do on a switch play like that. He knew how to get that open 3. It also helps that Nash knows he's not getting called on a bear hug at the end of the game.

I don't get it, those two twits are contradictory. Is the second one another person speaking?

Both Harden and Parsons offered hand, Lin was still down but apparently OK, not a big deal guys, no need to blow this thing up.

Nah, Harden extended his hand out and Parsons gave him a quick pat on the back before walking away, it was because he got up immediately and needed a sec to compose himself.

The drive and fall is at 1:40

Thanks for costing us another game Lin with your turnovers and weak defense.

Lin is not a great defender, but at least he tried.

If I recall, the play wasn't as designed. Nash said he adjusted or something. I'd have to go and look that up later.

But let's assume the play was as designed, then D'Antoni did the right thing. Big men usually DO NOT contest jump shooters on screen situations. Just watch Pick and Roll players. Most big men will hold their ground in the middle rather than contesting the jump shooter.

THe difference in this situation is that it was a game winning situation. Howard was probably reacting as he normally would. Most bigs would be afraid to challenge because of the threat of a drive.

So while McHale wanted everyone to switch, one has to wonder if this is something Howard practices. Oh well, good coaching does help.

Now this was a good post. Good teams have players play "roles". Harden can get his 20+ shots if he wants but it doesn't have to be ISO's. Harden needs to realize that if Howard, Parson, Lin, etc are threats on offense, his job will be easier. As people have said, Harden is a good wing shooter and can play off ball. The problem is either Harden doesn't want to or McHale is not actively pushing Harden to do that.

It would be good for the Rox to have a low post presence but if Howard / Asik focus on defense / rebounding, that will have to be good enough.

If anything Parsons is the one who should be lynched :p but for reals what a stupid mistake to inbound the ball to Howard. Just lame Parsons Mr. Traveler Fake a 3 Drive ad Turnover. I was sensing what Steve Kerr said that that play would bite us later on. And when the play was set, it was obvious that blake was gonna get it. I saw it coming before the ref gave the ball. I was like ahh here it comes. A dagger and boom. :/ We had the game
