Why would he be yelling at Lin when it was Bev who didn't switch?

My GARM senses are tingling today.

Rondo to the Rockets with this group has the potential for locker room disaster. I totally understand Dwight's skepticism about having an elite PG, but I just don't think it should just be focused on the PG position alone.

Lets face it- The Rockets don't have a true PG on their roster in the traditional sense anyways. They need someone to quarterback both on offense, and defense. Dwight could be that vocal leader on defense, but he needs to command the respect & trust of his biggest offenders. On offense, yes, Dwight needs someone…. anyone to give structure, quarterback, and deliver passes in the post. That part is obvious right now. This team is a big hot mess from a leadership standpoint.

There's just too much overthinking on coach's part right now. I remember thinking last year if they had a post presence, the team could be something special. Well, they got one, and tbh, he's not that great in the post, but this should look a lot better. If they just go back to the most obvious, the game would come a lot easier.

    - Get Asik out of the starting lineup. It's not doing anything good. It's hard to get Dwight quality touches in the post when you have another center drawing defenders like flies. Put Casspi out there and see what that looks like.

    - Get your best PG back in the starting lineup and let him pick up the pace a bit. It's waaaay too slow. Let him PnR with Dwight and you'll get some easy baskets for Dwight.

    - Get Dwight to set some better picks. I don't know what his aversion to PnR is, but he's so naturally fitted for that game, it's baffling that he makes such half-hearted attempts at picks.

    - Please work on the defense. Everyone seems to have a different idea of what they're trying to do out there. Part of it is the new parts and the rotations, but it shouldn't look this confused.

    - I don't care how you do it, get the ball in Harden's hands every crucial play down the stretch. That really shouldn't be that confusing. I really don't care at that point if he's playing iso. Let's re-evaluate further down the line, but this is what he's being paid to do.

    CP3 would have been amazing.
Harden is just flat out not a leader. He's a great scorer, but he's not willing to sacrifice stats for wins unlike someone like LeBron.

has anyone looked at dwills performance? he is a system pg. his words not mine. Who the coach is has a lot to do with the success of a player. under sloan, he was unstoppable. Under these past 2 head coaches, he lets the worst defender on earth, lin, rob him and disrupt his game.

The Rockets do have a QB at the PG position, he's just not given to ball.

Yeah I agree with the points you are making. Who would be an example of an available player that the Rockets need who is/ isn't a PG. Only person I can think of his Fisher. Can't think of any non PG's

Deron Williams is even more reliant on the pick and roll than Harden or Lin. How is Dwight even going to mesh with him.....

Pay attention. Nobody is saying that Lin isn't a good QB but he just doesn't command the respect that other guys who have been in the NBA for longer have. People like Battier, Kidd, Tyson Chandler etc.

Lol Rondo. He's ball dominant and so is harden. Harden thinks he's a point guard and Rondo might be top 2 point guard. Rondo won't defer like Lin does.

Deron and Howard would play well together.

Chandler had his best year offensively with Lin as his PG. He shot a ridiculous 67.9% from the field with Lin lobbing pass after pass to him for dunks.

Sure they would. If Dwight is willing to be a PnR center.

I feel like a coach like Stan Van Gundy would be able to get DH12 to buy into the PNR a lot more. Also i feel like a elite PG like Deron or Cp3 etc would get Dh12 to buy into the PNR also. McHale really needs to step up and fill this leadership hole that we have on this team imo. He needs to control players and get them to buy in to what is best for the team.

    Jason Kidd...lol

Seriously though I'm not really sure. Remember that Battier was this guy that Morey brought in for this specific reason and nobody saw it coming at the time. I think Morey will make not just one but a couple moves in the coming months that might be head scratching at first.

The Asik trade is an obvious big move and from that deal you could see another smaller one or two around the deadline. I don't think it was a huge issue this summer but I'm sure they are more than aware now of this need.

I kinda see Rondo ending up in Houston somehow. His agent is McHale's BFF... and obviously there's a Morey/McHale Celtics connection.

He can't play in this system, though.

Howard tuned out SVG in Orlando and cost him his coaching job. What makes you think he would want SVG or listen to anything he says.

The fact that Howard and Stan are still really close friends. I think it was more so DH12 wanted out of ORL than it was DH12 not liking Stan

I want to see a Rondo-Harden backcourt. I feel like Rondo would have the power to actually take the ball out of Harden's hands.
