Lin related a conversation to a reporter in which he said that he told Mchale that he didn't want to be a cripple like him when McHale asked him why he is icing his knees. Mchale is his boss. This is a very derogetory remark. Please don't infer that people are making far reaching conclusions when you clearly not aware of the remars that Mchale and Lin have said about each other. There are many. Don't hold your breath waiting for Mchale or Lin to say openly that there is contention between they. When Lowry said that he did not get along with Mchale his tenue with the rockets had ended. Mchale said he was unaware that he and Lowry had any problems. You are very unaware of how other behave in public. Morey never said that Royce White cussed at him and there was extremely bad blood between them when Royce was on the team. It just came out now.

honestly the main reason i see lin being on the bench is because his early t/o's in games causes the team to play from behind a lot. Lin's going to get his minutes because he's too good not be used heavily on the 2nd squad in making the 2nd squad better and also getting his buckets too.

Bev has great D and plays his role well. He's not going to give away points, but i don't see his offensive payoff as high as lin either. I think mchale just wants to start games off with better rhythm

Personally, I want to 25 -30. I wouldn't mind seeing Bev and Lin at the same time, when Harden is taking a break. Harden doesn't offer much in defense anyway. Lin is a guy that needs the ball in his hands to create. They failed to use his ability and willingness to drive last year. With Dwight he can drop down or kick out to our shooters, power forwards that can't shoot hurt this scenario and Harden on bench makes this weak too. We will also see the JLin Harden back court and Lin will again benefit from having Dwight.

Depends on how Lin handles the new situation and how the Rockets defense progresses with Dwight.

On the Dan Lebatard show Daryl Morey said he expects Bev and Lin to be on the floor together for 20 or so minutes a game. That's not even including the time Lin is the lone PG on the floor.

Any of the nut jobs that believe McHale has "animosity" towards Lin and plans on relegating him to a bit bench role player feel like changing their tune?

Closer to 30 minutes than 20, that's for sure.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that McHale doesn't like Lin as a person. I mean who knows he might, but we don't really have any way of knowing that obviously. I do think it's pretty clear that McHale isnt a HUGE fan of Jeremy as a player.

30 + plus minutes if the eye test is fair for all. Bev has trouble holding down the jacksons and will struggle against guarding the top 10. I say 25 minutes from the PG position and another 7 from elsewhere.

    Hail eyetests.

McHale and his players seem to have good natured ribbing going on between them on a regular basis.

McHale was ragging on the players and talking about all the new fangled stuff in the locker room to keep players in good condition, saying back in his day they just took aspirin and went back out to play the next day. The story as related by Lin was his joking response to McHale, which was right in line with the tone of what McHale was saying.

Perhaps not the wisest thing to have said, but I wouldn't take it as an indication of animosity between the two. The opposite, actually, in that he felt comfortable saying it.

It is really hard to predict. I think how much Lin will play does not depend so much on how well Lin plays but how well Beverley plays and how well the TT lineup works.

    Indeed. Beverley is McHale's guy.

The lulz is on you, rookie. Lin has been given a defined role and it should work well.

The downside is that Beverley isn't an ideal starter either. We have two backup point guards. Neither one excels at distributing the ball and controlling the pace of the offense. We assumed Harden could play that role but that's just not his game.

Justaguy: What's your sense of team chemistry? I'm inclined to dismiss all of these bad-blood threads as either nonsense or exaggeration. Is there anything to be really concerned about?

? we had one of the best pace last season.
I wish people would go back and analyze all the great victories where we dominated, lin played excellent. 41 starts were good to great, another 41 bad to terrible but expected as a first year starter. he can control the pace and everybody gets to touch the ball.
