Rockets aren't trading Lin or Asik until next season when their salaries jump from 5 million to 15 million. Then they are comodities to teams wanting to trade contracts for expiring contracts.
http://www.fearthesword.com/2013/10/13/4831320/midrange-shooting-floor-spacing-and-anderson-varejao Yeah. I missed that he was 31 yr old, played only in 25 games last year. Bummer. He was always round 11 and 8
Yes, just trade Asik, Lin, DMO, and Jones and whoever the **** else and get back a real ****ing PF please.
You are right Sir! It doesn't fit. They need another wing player who can defend and a PF who can stretch the floor and rebound
It's actually not that bad of a trade for either team but of course Miami won't make a trade like this while they are trying to 3peat.
How this misinformation gets posted after all this time baffles me. Again for the millionth time, the salary cap hit is a little over 8M for every season. The salary payments are irrelevant for trades. They probably aren't irrelevant for the owners actually paying them. So no, they are not commodities after this season.
We don't need to trade him. That's like asking if we should trade Ben Tate. He is a luxury. We need to bring him off the bench but give him starters minutes. The only problem is both of them deserve more than 24mpg but the only way to give them both 30mpg is to play them together at stretches.
I dont think the Rockets need to trade him right this second out of the roster, and take a bad deal just to move him, I just think that its time for the franchise to get ready to trade him internally. Meaning, go ahead and pull him aside and say its not working. Tell Omer that we are going to move you to bench role for now backing up Dwight. If you could give us 100% coming off the bench, we promise you we will get you to a very good place where you can flourish as a starter by the Feb deadline if not earlier. In the meantime if you could continue to remain quiet in the media that would help us get you to the best possible landing spot. Thanks Omer. That's what needs to happen ASAP. The sitting around waiting and trying to fool anyone into thinking Omer and Dwight can play together crap is going to pull this team apart chemistry wise. Everyone... fans, players, coaches, etc. are just sitting around waiting for this trade to happen. The sooner the move is made, the better off the team chemistry will be on and off the court.
Playing him at the 4 might actually be hurting his trade value. No I don't think you take 50 cents on the dollar for him, but 80 cents on the dollar might not be a bad idea.
They should have traded Ben Tate. Yes, I get that Foster is hurt now, but if he wasn't hurt it would have remained an issue. Also, just like the NBA is a guard driven league, the NFL is a pass driven league. The Texans would be better off opening up their offense rather than playing clock management ground and pound Football in the second half. Having too much good running backs might be fools gold in this day & age in the NFL unless you have Adrien Peterson who is the exception not the rule. You have to keep scoring in the NFL to win games. Teams are too good offensively, and you can't just win games by running out the clock. On the same token for the Rockets, they can't win games just by clogging the paint with bigs. Teams have gotten better and better at playing in the full court, and 3 pointers are like layups. You need a balanced roster, superstars who can score in the half court, and great defense to win as well in the NBA. The Rockets have the hardest part which is superstars that can score, the balanced roster and defense could come in one fail swoop if they can move Asik for the right player.
Start Casspi at the 4. Omer substitutes for Howard. TT in situations when needed. When Howard is in foul trouble or if he is playing poorly, Omer's minutes will go up. Start Lin instead of Bev.
