I openly accept and acknowledge that this is too early to speculate, but what the hell  From what I've seen so far? Whether in wins or losses, I do not think Harden w/ Howard is going to work long term. I havent seen too much inside out play nor even much of an attempt at it. Perhaps this is because the guys don't trust each other yet, I just know that I don't see anyone working on it. The offense comes to a standstill the same way it did last year in the halfcourt set once Harden gets the ball. I am not a fan of Dwight, but I think some really poor habits that Harden picked up last year is still showing up this year. The lack of self accountability, the selfishness, the over dribbling ISO plays. These were all traits that Harden displayed because he was the only superstar on the team. Unless Harden corrects these, I do not believe Dwight will be happy with him. Now the question for you is... If you are Morey and you are being forced to choose between Dwight or Harden, who are you gonna go with? Personally, I always think bigger is better, but the new NBA puts an emphasis on perimeter play and Harden is the best SG in the league IMO. That being said, Dwight took a team built around him to the Finals. I just can't see Harden doing that unless he's got a number 2 superstar. My vote goes to Dwight. and yes it's all hypothetical conjecture.
u said it perfect the habits of harden last year, it's sad a lot of people have to see this now after a tiff lost, understand when people were telling u guys this it was nothing against harden, it just goes to show we know bball better, u can score as many points as u want that great but don't expect to win a playoff series we are a poor mans clippers last year and the same rockets team as last year... The 4 wins we have now I am confident they would have them with last years team going through training camp together this summer
dwight is a cancer. I didn't want to believe it, but patterns don't lie. Orlando said this to LA, and LA said Orlando was just hating; and now LA is saying this to Houston; will Houston say this after 4 more years?
he has been to the final and just a Rafer away from getting the title. he play D hard. when he is healthy and motivated he can be deadly in offense too. and he can play good PNR if he want to. enuf for ballhog, got fed up last season and dont want to watch it this season yet again. sell high. enuf said.
you can surround howard with role players and win, you can surround harden with role players and loose... easier to find shooters to complement howard, than defensive specialists to cover hardens lacks of defense... I pick howard...
This team can't win champion At 2014 draft : Trade D12 for Wiggins Trade Harden for Riddle Trade Parsons for Parker
Sadly, I agree Already thought Dwight didn't have enough heart to be a champion. His cancerous potential just adds to his baggage. His horrible FTs against his former team (coincidence?) adds more doubt about his mental fortitude. More baggage.
Agreed, smh. The both have major flaws. Motivation should come from within, you gotta WANT it. Dwight = the lion from Wizard of Oz #heart
I picked Harden. He still seems to have a lot of room to develop. I think people forget he just turned 24! He's very young, and young guys have flaws, especially on the defensive end. Howard on the other hand has experience, but he doesn't strike me as a WINNER. He's a physical specimen big man that doesn't have a post-game and is a huge liability at the end of games. I pick Harden by a landslide.
TBH i think if we keep continue playing this way, it's only a matter of time before the superstar egos will emerge. With D12 here, Harden needs to adapt his offensive game accordingly and focus on his defense more (if you could call it that). When I look at successful teams like Miami, you'll notice they play as a team. You'll hardly ever see Lebron forcing up a ton of bad shots when especially when he's struggling because he trusts his teammates. He's the best player in the game, yet he's not always demanding to shoot the ball in late game situations. So far, as the OP stated, I see the same bad habits creeping back from Harden. He cannot continue to play like he did last year or we ain't going nowhere. Our offense is too predictable and stagnant late in the game. If Harden truly wants to become a legit top SG in this league, he needs to become a better all-around player.
