Agreed. And frankly I do not yet see a superstar on this team. Superstars need to play both ends if the court while showing leadership and the ability to improve the play of his teammates. Maybe my standard for superstardom is too high but we've got great athletes who are stars but are just not there yet. We shall see if they get there as they are still young.
this team needs to play hard all 4 quarters. we are developing a culture that is too laid back, we need to play hard every game. not just every game when we lost and then we win to make ourselves feel good. leaders need to take initiative on the court, and put the blame on themselves rather than role players.
way to downplay a situation. LAL - HOU matchup has been a rivalry since that 22 winning streak. Alston- Vujacic, 2009 playoffs 2nd round, Battier and Artest against Kobe Now Dwight leaving the Lakers to go to Houston
Seriously, Houston two superstars have major flaws: 1. Harden - lack of D 2. Howard - FTs, lack of post moves I think the current Howard is what you see is what you get. I'd give Harden a year or two to see if he can play locked defense - something tells me that he physically can't. To be a locked down defense you must be quick and agile, which he is a long shot from it.
This loss is Karma... We all laughed at the Clippers for losing to the Lakers and look what happened...
His on the ball D can be good but him playing off the ball is so woeful it is crazy. Constantly sags off (not to mention that is even worse when you consider he has Dwight to clean up his defensive mishaps behind him) and he goes from having his head on a swivel (bad enough in the NBA already) to completely ball watching until the pass is made to his man and he has to sprint over there. He has the tools to be a decent to good defender, but his fundamental defense is so skewed it is crazy.
Exactly, a loss, so what? Don't expect to advance to the Conference Finals this year guys, extremely unlikely barring injuries. Everyone has flaws on this team. There is no LeBron or Dream. It's gonna take time. It's unfortunate that the coach probably thinks otherwise and isn't actively fixing problems or coming up with strategies to cover them up. On the other hand, I'll give him the benefit of a doubt because you never know what's going on behind. Maybe it's politics, maybe it's showcasing for trades, maybe it's to prove to the players that what they are doing isn't working. Still early. But TT + Bev is definitely not good for 1 st unit's offense.
its good to loose for a young promising team like the Rockets. It's the only way for our players to learn how to win!
Seriously. We just played 5 games in 7 nights, with a three game West Coast swing thrown in there for good measure. The guys are drained and not shooting well or playing great D. I don't think this loss is really indicative of a systemic problem. Everyone needs to chill out.
Never seen so much wailing and gnashing of teeth over going 4-2. But then again it is the GARM, knee-jerking capital of the internet.
to be pissed off and dissapointed is sucha waste of emotion...rather enjoy and be happy cause the life is a banquet and rockets are contenders...rockets have the switch(it is a proof of our strenght) and will lose a couple of games in RS just like miami...
