Lin's chemistry is with our 2nd unit, not the starters.

Lin should be our starting PG again. Anyone still disagreeing is fooling themselves.

I can tell, with JH's heavy ISOs, Rockets will never get the chance to win it all.

He also averaged around 8 assists a game during that span. He did both scoring and facilitating well.

starter bev made 3 pts. 1 jump shot in the 4th (he scored none) and we would have won.

I said yesterday that I felt we (fans and team alike) were getting too smug. Too high on ourselves. I WAS worried, and I wish so much that I had been wrong...

Last shot was only a small part of it. Not at all the real problem:

    * We had no movement on offense in money time - strictly ISO & streetball by Harden. Much worse - Harden ignores McHale and his orders, the way it looks to me.

    * Rotation's too short (If we say we're deep, how come we use 7 people - 6 and two halfs).
Needed more of Garcia and Casspi (both had a positive +/-).
Needed Smith (let them hack him instead).
Could use Brooks (when everyone is cold, why not look for hot hands on the bench?), and even D-Mo, TJ & Brewer.
    Why keep rotation so short???

    * TT is definitely situational, and it sure isn't Rockets Bball.

    * Asik is a mess, emotionally I think. This role is not working for him.

    * Judging from today, Bev's D is overrated, and so is Parsons', a bit.

    * The whole team is not sharp enough, not fighting with fists and nails, not hungry.

It's all fixable. Let's go Rockets!!

It looked to me that the pre-season overseas trip brought the guys together. Guess it didn't or the chemistry took a nosedive shortly after.

GUYS ITS OK. Hopefully they will use this game to motivate them. Hopefully the air get vent and someone steps up about Hardens iso or somehow help dwight with free throws.

There were plenty of mistakes to go around. Can't blame the game on one person.

The FTs aren't so bad when you consider we made 22 more. 3PTs was the biggest factor IMO. Lakers made 9 more while shooting 46% compared to our 26%.

Geez....i think we all know Bev should have switched, and no one is denying that so can we stop baiting LOF's to create a reaction!?

My thoughts on the game....no more of TT please. It does not work at all. I even thought perhaps against the Lakers possibly, but as you can see it is responsible for the all the bad starts we have had so far. That last qtr was horrible! We also got beaten by Hack-A-Howard strat, I dont blame Howard, we all knew about his FT when he was signed by the rockets....thought the coaching staff would have been smarter to manage that one :s Harden also went into full hero mode in the last 3 minutes and tried to win it all himself. He did a lot of great offensive plays to get us back in, but he also made some questionable decisions. The team looked lost and currently a little bit too unsettled.

Rockets need to make the decision to scrap the TT combination quickly especially at the start of the game (they can always bring it during the game if needed depending on the context). The season is all about momentum, u don't want to have a losing streak at the start of the year and put you on the back foot.

Yup that's what I tell myself too, its just 1 game. Hopefully team chemistry is all just my dumb speculation and everyone comes back fired up for next game. As you said they played horrible and still only got beat by a desperation 3. Here's to better games!

I don't understand why McHale is trying to hard to awkwardly shoehorn Asik into the line-up when it's clearly not working, while at the same time he's so resistant to starting Lin when it's actually worked pretty well.

We are. That's the whole reason we're screaming for McHale to put an end to the Twin Towers experiment. It's killing us offensively and it's actually making us a worse defensive team if you can believe that. I was ok with that lineup after the Memphis preseason game and because I thought it would keep Asik happy and motivated, but we cannot keep spotting teams double-digit leads in the first quarter. Eventually you will get burned and it happened tonight.

Am I the only one who saw Lin call for the ball and get ignored every single time? What's he supposed to do? Walk up to his teammate, whack them in the head and steal the ball?

This is on McHale. Mack needs to stop this 8-man rotation and play a deeper bench, give Lin an actual 2nd unit to run. Otherwise, what is the point of moving him to the bench if we're still not utilizing his skills properly? It's maddening, I'm starting to not understand the intention of switching starting PGs.
