oh still here? if you got so much time chit-chat here why not do your own tracking, if you are unhappy with mine? already asked if anyone got time to fill in gap of the clippers game, how about you do it? if you are so motivated?? it's always easier sitting there chewing out others without getting your hand dirty.

lmao, what a great way to twist other's word. what I said is all about ref's call interfere the game too much that it cant reflect the true ability between those players, no one can defend with 5 fouls not even Dwright, he is facing the same BS calls and did horrible, so I rule it out for anomaly. I dont know how can you turn these words into defending Lin's honor.

however I can fully understand when a fly get used fed on turd but when it cant find one, it make one in it's head so wont feel too hungry. these fies are the most annoying species in this site now.

I hope people will calm down, and just support the team. Lin, Bev, Harden etc aren't bothered by their minutes and roles.

Gee, get over it already, u guys are arguing for the sake of argument.
Bev is a role player, period. And Lin will never be a star like some of you wish for.
If u look back 5 yrs from now, starting or not prob didn't make any diff to both' s career.

Probably won't make any difference in the Rockets' win loss record either.

They're definitely separate in my head. Your name is not one I'd ever include on my list. ;)

Lin and Beverley are two players who work very hard on defense. I think both of them should be appriciated more!

What you said is true, but the opposite us also true. Saying anything negative about Bev is instantly evidence that you're a fake fan.

If Lin played exactly like Bev and Bev played exactly like Lin, there's no question in my mind who McHale would start and there'd be no controversy at all from anyone.

Besides, Lin and PB are friends, at least that is my observation.

I don't know what has been happening behind the court (Coaching staff, front office, GM, Les ...), but it is very obvious that there is something going on to demote Lin and promote PB.

I will give you two examples:

    Jonathan Feigen ‏@Jonathan_Feigen 5 Nov
With the Rockets in a freefall and Blazers cutting 18-point lead to 5, Beverley scores on a tip and hits a 3. (promote PB)

    Jonathan Feigen ‏@Jonathan_Feigen 5 Nov
Was just typing what a solid game Lin has had, then he had a bad turnover and fouls Matthews shooting a 3. (Demote Lin)

Good question. Lin would probably be the better match up since Nash is pretty tall. But, I think Lin going with the 2nd unit might slice and dice things up nicely against LA's second unit.

I can only speak for myself, of course. I have my own criticisms of Bev's game, and he definitely has a lot to work on -- so I don't assume somebody is a fake fan or LOF just because they say something negative about his game. But there are those who objectively critique, and then there are those who only post to either (1) praise Jeremy or (2) trash another player (usually Harden or Beverley) in an effort to defend Jeremy's honor. As a contributing member you can see post history with one click, so it's very easy to spot when someone has 100 posts and all 100 of them fit into the aforementioned categories. Those are the posters I personally find annoying. Nobody on the roster is above criticism or negative commentary about their game, IMO.

I agree with your points. But I have come to the view that the reason the arguments against Lin starting often feel weak, is that the real resistance people feel about Lin starting, are not those reasons, but the basic belief that Lin does not fit well with Harden. And not fit in any statistically or otherwise measurable sense (such as in the factors you mention), but in the sense that Harden wants the ball in his hands, the Rockets need a grittier defensive bite (which Harden will never spearhead, and there is the hope Bev could) and Lin's brand of basketball (although respected) simply is not needed, and may even detract from, that mix.

While I long thought the Rockets as a team would be better served with Lin starting, I am now coming around to the view that regardless of whether that may be true or not on some abstract level, the reality of who Harden is (and how he is likely or unlikely to change) may mean that those fit arguments may have some merit. Not because Lin is a worse defender or 3 pt shooter or rebounder, or because it would be better to have one play maker on the floor than two, but because Beverley suits Harden's preferred style of play better. That is, there is the hope Bev may be able to cover better for Harden's defensive weaknesses or at least energize the defense as a whole more when he is out there; Harden's usage will be higher with Bev on the floor (which Harden seems to want).

For Lin too, while it has to bite right now, I think in the long run it could be better for him -- not because he will "shine" on the second unit, but because in the long run it will be better for him to be on a team where his skills will be more in demand. And I think Lin is going to have a great season regardless.

Both of those things are factual, though. Bev did hit a 3. Lin did commit a shooting foul behind the line. Should a Rockets reporter not report on things that actually occur during the game? He'd literally JUST reported how Jeremy had had so many strong consecutive plays.

Substitute [clutchfans] for [the roster] and it still works!

The part I find annoying is I have to go out of my way to carefully word anything I say about Beverley or Lin. And PG is my favorite position, so those are the two players I pay most attention to.

    True, that are facts.

I guess it is not what you say, but how you say it.

    Ex.

    1. ____ had a great game against Blazers.
    2. ____ had a great game against Blazers overall, but he still got 3 TOVs.

One thing that bothers me about Bev, people overrate his defense so much... yet fail too see how much he improved on the offensive end. That floater/hook shot is money and he attacks the rim with ease. He's not stupid, dude worked all summer trying to become a better all around player.
