No one will ever come anywhere close to Paul George!
(But only if you add John & Ringo in there... :p)

If we're talking strictly BB, though -
I'd pick the beard any time
(preferably with some extra D as seasoning).

PG is no match to JH, IMHO.

This is something I do not agree with. For this team Harden is more valueable, because he is elite at creating his shot. George would instantly make this team elite on defense (pair him with Howard and Beverly and you have a lockdown team...), but in the playoffs you need that one player to rely on to get you points. You need that Jordan, Kobe, Olajowon, James, Parker/Duncan, Durant... and I don`t believe George is that player and I don`t think he ever will be.

If you somehow can pair him with a player like that, that would be a lethal combination. He can be a great Pippen to any elite scorer, even someone like Carmelo. But I don`t think he can be that Jordan. Now I am not saying Harden is anywhere near as good as Jordan, but I believe he can fill that role.

To summarize: I think he can be maybe the best second star in the league, but he can`t be the first star if you want to win a championship. Harden may need the right team around him and can`t elevate a team the way a LeBron or Kobe in his prime could, but with the right team he absolutely can be the first star on a championship team.

    Because players

    a) Tend to regress toward their career averages
    b) Tend to regress toward the mean

It is MUCH more likely that PG's stats go down than stay where they are or improve.

    howard + george + lin + bev > howard + parsons + bev + harden

George and it's not even a debate. George is one year younger, has much better physical attributes, rapidly improving offense, elite defender.

His current EFG is higher than any season average put up by either Michael Jordan or Kevin Durant.

That it would come down is a total no brainer

Well, if Sydeffect says it's not a debate...

Seriously, Harden is the better player until PG proves otherwise. He hasn't proven it yet.

His role on offense have change. If you watch the Pacers you would see they want more from him offensively. That is why he is taking more shots so far. And so far he hasn't let them down. So there is a good chance his numbers are way better than last season.

George will probably average 20-21 PPG this season, offensively that's where he's at. I'm sure JVG would take George over Harden because George is a plus defensively. I'm not so sure because Harden is a guy you can give it to in the 4th when you need a bucket, if/when George can prove to me he is that guy as well, I will take him over Harden but not right now.

He's put up 4 good games. Four. Kobe's put up 56 ppg over 4 games before. No joke. Doesn't mean he's going to average it over the season.

Over the entire season he put up 16ppg last year. In the playoffs, he put up 19ppg. Now all of a sudden you're saying he's going to be as efficient as Durant and scoring as much as him? Cause of 4 games? Come on pimpn. You know most likely he's going to regress.

At 23 yrs old PG is nowhere near reaching his max potential. Hes gotten better as time continues and is still climbing towards the elite status with the best in the league.

At 26 and 8 I doubt he gets much better then that. He has extracted every drop of talent he has mostly due to hard work and keeping himself in great physical shape.

He could improve his passing, his ball handling, his shot selection, add a post game. He is far from extracting every drop of talent he has.

Getting better doesn't always have to mean statistically..Individually, he continues working on his overall game and it shows.

It is not a no- brainer, none of us can predict what will happen in the future. All im saying is offensively his role looks to have changed. They might be counting on him to step his game up big time in that department. That is why he is taking more shots so far pimpn.
