Although I didn't have the balls to bet on it, FSLR soared last week after ER. Also just got schooled by TSLA that betting on ER is not a good idea most of the times. :(.

Twitter IPO tomorrow. Anyone care to guess where it's going to end up at the closing?

Betting on earnings reports is gambling by another name. Unless you know something that the market as a whole doesn't, you're really just guessing and have no idea what the reports will be, or whether they will beat or fall short of expectations. Your odds of being up 10% are the same as being down 10%.

Eddie, for all his stupidity, had a reasonable long-term investment thesis on Tesla. Whether it's right or wrong, there some underlying logic to it and it might play out in the long run. But his arrogance and lack of understanding what drives stock prices caught up to him.

Yeah, should stick gambling to the degen thread in Dish :). I didn't exactly gamble on the TSLA ER, I just didn't unload a few long calls on TSLA before market close. Should've know better than holding risky stuff over ER.

I am long term bullish on TSLA though. I admire Musk in that the company is growing almost exactly as he envisioned. He's basically reiterating the same thing every quarter. Everything seems to be on track according to their internal plan, although that plan might not be as aggressive as what overzealous investors are seeking. It is a great company, although at the previous price point it is not a great stock. I might get back into it some time later.

Specific companies (Hal, bhi, wft) have had monster run ups this year. The time to get in was last summer. At this point the easy and big money has been made.

Guys what do you think about all these weed stocks. With the slow decriminalizing of it state by state, and eventually making it legal. Is there a chance this is something we should invest into first? Or is it too risky they are all penny stocks now.

    Thoughts?

TSLA is down close to 25% since it hit 180. I wonder how low it will go.

Too risky. It still isn't legal yet. I would wait until it is truly legal.

TWTR freaking skyrocket. Don't buy it now guys. Wait until after their first earnings report disappoints and then look to buy it after all the weak hands are flushed out.

I have PHOT in my portfolio.

They own the distribution channels for all sorts of grow equipment. So it's for general hydroponics and not just mar1juana hydroponics. Sales in q1 this yr were up 700% over the q1 2012.

They have online (greners) and brick and mortar stores. Dominating the hydro garden supply market

But by the time it is legal won't all the stocks already be priced as so.

Also the route that Ganja is taking is an interesting one the supplies for growing, although that seems more DIY kinda thing. If this thing legalizes very few people are going to grow it at home. The only reason people do it now is because it is illegal.

Chart looks solid enough on that. If it moves below 8 cents I would get out. FWIW that is at least a reputable company that fully reports financials, but they are also losing a ****load of money. Also they have 620 million shares outstanding....meaning expect more share offerings so they can keep their business going.

I think someone mentioned it earlier in the thread. I found a decent link talking about it. Basically, that company is trashed. Don't buy it.

When it's legalize there might actually be legit companies trying to get into the business. These companies that are out there now are pretty bad.

They posted earnings yesterday and had bad Q4 guidance. As a result, they are down 10% today at $8.50.
