Kerr, doesn't know anything if he things Bev should start. He just got done saying that Howard and Asik don't fit together, so why not put Bev in there and make the offense even worse.

Farieds offense is as handicapped as Asik's. I rather keep Asik. Jeff Green is nowhere near enough to give the top 3 defensive center in the league for and Aldridge is a pipe dream. We will most likely stand pat because next season Asik will have a expiring deal and he will still be a elite defensive giant to boot. He will have a lot more value next season.

It's hard to disagree with anything he said. However, I do find it a bit ironic on his part because he's also the guy who said that Lebron/Wade would never work out because they were too similar of a player and too ball dominant. He said this right after Lebron made the "decision". I also remember him criticizing Bosh's toughness and saying that the Heat needed a real frontcourt star who could rebound and bang down low.

Basically, he was completely wrong about the Heat. I do agree with Kerr's analysis of our team the way its currently constructed, though.

Or Heat may actually want Asik. How about Bosh? :)

Bosh would be the perfect fit on our team, since he can hit outside jumpers and space the floor, play defense to help make up for our leaky perimeter, AND he can play center when Dwight is on the bench.

Miami might not even consider trading him though. They just won two championships with that squad.

Maybe we could get Bosh in the offseason via sign and trade if the Heat get knocked out in the ECF by the Pacers?

I agree with Kerr concerning Asik, who seems to be the odd man out. He is too good to be Dwights backup and side by side there are obvious issues. On the other hand, I am a bit reluctant to bring in a PF that takes the ball from Dwight. I think that the Parsons/Casspi experiment has done good for Dwight and that's why he loves to play again. Therefore, I would trade Asik for a true backup for Dwight. Somebody who comes from the bench for that purpose. I'm not too worried about the Parsons/Casspi durability. Indiana and Memphis have heavy weight big men and they did not really shine against the "tiny" Rockets PF's in the pre-season. Maybe the playoffs are a different story, but by then Parsons/Casspi are much more experienced too.

I think it's better if Omer just practice harder and get a midrange. He's fully capable of that IMO. It would be even better if he learns to catch better and finish strong. He did that running hook thing and euro step so maybe he'll really get better in that respect. Well, but then we won't be able to retain him after next year. O whatever, in Morey I trust!

and Miami is a championship contender but they're not going to win it this year.

Cuz it's Rockets vs Pacers in the finals, yeah baby, yeah!

Why in the world would we want Faried. I thought the problem was having two big men who can't shoot.

Even a guy who works for the Houston Chronicle and writes about the Houston Rockets for a living can't spell Patrick Beverley's name right.

Very fair assessment and on point with everything he said about the Asik/Howard dynamic. Kerr wasn't as bad of a GM as people would like to think (having a bottom 3 owner in Sarver didn't help his case), and knows what Morey is ultimately planning with this roster even if he can't do it today.

Exactly, where was his expertise in creating a Championship roster. In the end it all depends on how will the team gels, just look at the Pistons team that defeated the Shaq and Kobe lead Lakers.

A very interesting point. Several very smart stats people have forecast that the Heat would probably break the CHI 72 win record if they do a straight up trade of Bosh for Asik and filler. I am not sure that is true, but anything can happen if you have LBJ.

"This sequence has made (coach Kevin McHale’s) job difficult,” Kerr said. “They didn’t expect to get Howard when they signed Asik. Now you’ve got both, and you have to make the best of it."

When they signed Asik, the goal was to have him backup Howard. It just took Morey a little longer than he thought it would take to get Howard here. While I don't think it is an ideal fit, they have enough talent to make it work for 8-10 mpg. In the Western conference, there are a few teams that it may work against in long stretches.
