They didn't fix it in time for Survival? He lip synched that track too while looking at the teleprompter like he couldn't remember his own lyrics. http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/2013/11/eminem_terrible_on_snl.php
Yeah, Berzerk is the best song i've heard in about a decade from Eminem -- just straight rap without a crappy chorus hook from a chick with a huge voice. It seems Eminem is going the Nas route -- a couple great albums then 10 years of crap (thankfully) followed by a return to his roots.
It was clearly an audio level problem. The only time backing vocals were playing were during the hook and the ad-libs through out the verses. Just the ad-libs and chorus levels were much higher (or rather, his mic output was much lower) than it should have been. Do you really think Eminem would agree to lip syncing??? Dude has had a personal point to prove he's the greatest emcee breathing and a live performance contributes to anyone holding that title. Think about it.. Why would he need lip syncing or "reading a prompter" for either of those two songs when he's fully capable of performing such a complex lengthy insanely difficult song such as RAP GOD live???
The funniest piece from that link is the Tweet about Kurt Russell from "The Thing" is now Eminem's DJ with a photo from SNL. I could not stop laughing when I saw that tweet. I thought that dude looked familiar. LOL
Songs I Like: Bad Guy So Much Better Survival Legacy Berserk (it's cool, radio hit) Rap God The Monster (another mainstream hit dig the beat) So Far... Love Game Headlights Evil Twin Desperation Groundhog Day Beautiful Pain Wicked Ways Songs I Don't Like: Rhyme or Reason ******* Stronger Than I Was Brainless **Faves bolded** Pretty good ratio if you ask me.
Words words words. Watch or re-watch the show. He was clearly lip synching, it's all over the web and he's not even denying it. He was looking at the teleprompter quite often during both songs. I love Em, but that was embarrassing to watch.
Honestly, wgaf over whether he lip-synced or not? It's not the first time this has happened and it definitely won't be the last. Funny how everyone seems to get busted on SNL for it though.
Wow this album is nuts. Just the way he tells a story, you literally hang on every word. Lots of substance. Loving the album so far.
There was something clearly off on the first song -- Eminem is the last person I would think would lip-synch or read the lyrics from a monitor, but he appeared to be doing both. He looked confused at times too -- i'm not sure what was going on, but he was much better in the second song.
Finally got around to listening to the entire album... all I can say is I am not disappoint. Thought it was great.
