"'You guys should thank Chandler Parsons because he is a big reason why I am here.'" -Dwight Howard Parsons did most of the work and got the team prepared for the recruiting process period. Again Harden is of course a reason Dwight is here but not the #1 reason.
Not knocking Harden but I'd say Paul George is gradually coming close to that next level. And the fact that hes already a two way player puts him up there
He's shown a lot of improvement. His long ball isn't going in right now but that's really the only negative I'm seeing.
Les has already said publicly that he Parsons isn't going anywhere. He is going to give him his pay day. Howard even said that Parsons probably played the biggest hand in him come to Houston; you can't stab the guy in the back and ship him away. That would be a very classless move if it were to happen, IMO.
I think Chandler is overrated. I didn't think he's a great shooter. He's a streak shooter, but not a pure shooter. He's not athletic like some others that can effortlessly rise up and dunk the ball. His layups are being challenges and missed layups. He's terrible at dribbling. To me, he's above average but that's about it. The thing i like about him is he play smart and understand the game and knows what to do. He try to will his way and get the back into the game...that's competitive...and that's what i like......but sometimes he does it regardless and get his shot block or challenged without realizing. If someone come along that is better than him..sure i would trade him.
Parsons is a decent player, but please stop overrating. The only reason he is of value is because we have Harden, Howard and Lin giving him open shots. It's the same reason Garcia and Casspi are shooting career highs for threes. The same reason that Delfino shot a higher % for his threes when he was here than otherwise in his career. The moment Parsons leaves the Rockets is when his value will vaporize. He is an iffy defender and can't create his own offense.
True, but the risk will be high in terms of offending Fegan/Howard. Agents that represent star players, with the new CBA, are quite powerful more than they should be. I'm not sure Morey's willing to risk it unless it's for a ridiculously good player. Not sure LMA is worth that. I'm thinking player of Love or Durant's caliber.
Howard/Smith Aldridge/Jones/DMo Garcia/Casspi Harden/Lin Beverley/Brooks That's a much improved Starting lineup, with only a slightly weaker bench
Love ain't goin nowhere though. Atleast we know LA loves Houston and is on a much worse team than the Wolves.
Is Parsons a star? No, so I would be completely willing to give him up if the right trade comes along.
How can you say much worse team? Portland has just a good of a shot at making the 7th or 8th seed as the T'Wolves do...
Lost in everyone's wishful thinking for a Rockets team with Aldridge is this fact: we're good enough to win the whole damn thing right now. As constructed. Chemistry can be a very underrated thing. Don't mess it up.
Hell yea I would trade Parsons. I would even be happy if Morey did a "Kyle Lowry trade" with him for a lottery pick in next year's sweet draft. I'm not 100% sure that Morey wants to bring in another big money player at this point or even if he can get one.
I really doubt that. Wolves are definitely a top 5-6 seed. I can't see them dropping to the 7th or 8th spot but I'd love it if they did. I think they're a scary team bound to have a breakout year. Portland is above average, but only due to Damien and LMA.
He will not trade Parsons. The Rockets have reached a point where Parsons can no longer be considered an "asset." He is friends with Howard and Harden. The key is team chemistry.
