From what I've read and many have speculated, Sony trolled the **** out of MS. They made MS think they were going to release the system in 2014 with DRM and inferior hardware.

I have a 60 inch tv,will this 720p vs 1080p be a issue. Sorry, my knowledge of these things suck, but I have the one reserved and picture quality sounds more attractive. Then again Halo is my ****! Dammit xbox why 720p?

It varies game-by-game (some will be 1080p, or at least much better than 720p). It is only an issue if you think it is an issue. For some people, 720p isn't that big of a deal vs 1080p (or whatever, 720p vs 900p, 900p vs 1080p, etc.). You still get some great looking games, hopefully 30+ FPS, and everything else XBO has to offer. For other people, the resolution difference is a pretty big deal, and they'd prefer something with better image quality (though if it was THAT big of a deal, they might stick to PC gaming, unless there were certain console-only games they wanted).

Nope that's exactly what you're paying for. Kinect is an amazing feature, and definitely worth the $100 difference. The inferior console though, I'm not sure about. This is why I'm switching from Xbox to PS this generation...that and I'm done paying for Xbox Live so I can be bombarded by ads.

it depends on how you value the gaming exclusives.

if you like halo and forza etc, go for it.

The kinect for xboxone is suppose to be way better.

for me, i'm probably not going to get a new system for years. we've been down this road before. once the dust settles the prices go down, the units get more optimized and the games get better.

Yeah. XBO offers lots of things, but it will struggle at times when trying to match what PS4 can do graphically. It is a pretty significant difference in power (and yes, that's with the cheaper system being more powerful), but that isn't necessarily a big deal to everyone. Platform X could be limited to 720p on all its games while Platform P will mostly be 1080p, but if Platform P can't play Halo, what's the point (would you take Halo @ 720p or Halo @ 0p? PR agencies, feel free to use that one).

    Resolution difference:

Anything bigger than a 40" would show a noticeable difference, i.e. blurry image, jaggy edges, etc.

However, if these don't bother you, as RC said:

    So much this.

I very briefly subscribed to Gold because a friend wanted to play some multi-player Gears of War 3. And my god... I'm paying you guys a fee and still I see a wall of ads whenever I turn on my system? It's bad enough when I'm not paying... but when I am? Come on now.

I'll never understand why more people aren't put off by the sheer volume of advertising in the 360's interface. I feel assaulted by ads every time I turn the thing on. I'm THRILLED that I now have a smart TV to use my media server directly, rather than having to use the 360 for that functionality. No more ads! Woohoo!

I honestly didn't know there was a difference until I saw the playstation interface. I'm not even kidding, I was confused that there weren't ads there. Don't get me wrong sometimes the ads were useful, or even things I wanted but the point is I'm paying for this. So basically Microsoft is double dipping. I mean I pay $10/m for spotify, and I get mobile access with no ads. Anyway, like I said it didn't bother me until I started considering the PS4.

IGN just put up a lot of content for XBO launch games. Previews, videos, etc.

Though they still managed to botch the facts in some cases, but it is IGN.

Lots of stuff coming out for Ryse and Forza recently I noticed. KI is apparently being "gifted" to certain loyal XBL subscribers I think, which is pretty cool (the full game with everything unlocked).

From glancing at coverage today, Crimson Dragon is still the only one I just have to have. But it's not urgent. I'll buy it for cheap whenever I eventually get around to buying an Xbox One.

I'm sure some of the other games there are good, but I'll wait to see review scores. Crimson Dragon I'd just buy on faith alone.

I was definitely impressed with Kinect being able to track weight distribution. I'm definitely going to miss my Kinect. I have a PS4 camera sitting on my table just waiting to be used though (it won't be nearly as good, haha).

That is rad. I'm guessing theoretically PSN+ codes could work the same way since it's just a QR code.

nah, i dont think so. the ps4 camera is no where near as powerful as the kinect 2.0. why do you think we barely know anything about the ps4's camera? because its pretty similar to the ps3's camera.

Doesn't really effect me though since i couldn't care less about camera's on my console.

We know a lot about the camera. The full specs were released at E3 I think. It is quite a bit better than the PS3's camera. I can't imagine it being too tough to do something like what was shown in that video (maybe not as smooth/fast, but doesn't seem too difficult).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Camera#PlayStation_Camera

Like the PS3's camera though, not sure it will get a lot of support. Maybe with MS pushing Kinect, some devs will port their games to the PS camera if it will work (games like Just Dance).
