That is a "Total Distance Traveled" in miles... since it's a total, it favors the players that have played in 5 games (Rockets) over those who have played in 4.

Parsons, however, is #2 in distance traveled per game. I guess "traveling" is suddenly a good thing in basketball :)

That player tracking data is freaking amazing!

Anyone know how this works? Physical sensors or pure software? If it's pure software I wonder what the +/- accuracy is.

    Thanks OP.

Hopefully Harden's speed and per/48 numbers will start to match the other Rockets starters now that Beverly is back and he doesn't have to play such heavy minutes.

Looks like Beverly is the fastest Rocket according to this measure at 4.5 mph, followed by Casspi at 4.4!

Howard, Blake, and Lin's total distance traveled is amazing considering how many minutes they're playing per game.

Or did I not read this right?

Parsons is racking up all of these frequent traveling miles with his pump fakes.

Wow, I'd never realized just how much running is involved in a game of basketball. Over 2 miles.

Those numbers are not measurements for speed. I can walk faster than 4.4 mph.

The PER 48 controls for minutes played. Doesn't look out of the ordinary, might be a little on the low side.

Of course Lerbon would lead in traveling. *rimshot*

Not surprised at all to see Parsons at the top. He has the best off-ball movement on this team and it's the reason why McHale keeps him on the floor. That said fatigue probably causes a lot of the silly mistakes we've seen from him.
