Why is Parsons shot so flat this season?

4 Reasons why his jumper has regressed
    1. Shoots on the way down instead of releasing at highest point
    2. Leans back instead of going forward on his jump shot
    3. Really tight arms on his release, not fluid.
    4. Practicing a bad form, needs help from Calvin Murphy...

I think of lot of it has to do with his point of release. If you watch closely he releases as he is coming down, not at the peak of his jump.

Parsons is what he is, he was never a viable third option on this team. He is a good role player, which is fine. But all this talk that Parsons could be an allstar was absolutely ridiculous. But lets get back to Lin and Beverley cause they are always more interesting to talk about than Justin Timberlake.

This. But all four of these problems would be fixed by just fixing number one.

this. i've been wondering why his timing has changed so dramatically. it's as if lin and casspi collectively stole his shooting touch. he really needs to be able to keep the defense honest when playing the 3, and stretch it occasionally at the 4, and he really hasn't been doing that this year.

Not really, just because you release at highest point doesn't mean your not floating to right/left/back and/or have really tight arms.

His shot has always been very flat. It still is; nothing new. Maybe you're just now noticing?

He seems trying to be a PG, which he does not do well in.

That is what Bullard said during one of the games this year . . .

But he did shoot 38%, that's not bad. 44% post all star, that's good!

Parsons maybe, but Lin was injured last season. He had to rest.

    I agree !
The one thing where he will always be good is hitting big shots though....
He has that Clutchiness that you can't learn... that's why I like him, but you are right, he ain't a star... might become one but he has to keep doing what he does best and should not try to be / become a star.... keep with the fundementals ...

An seriously, except his shooting, he plays as good as last year ! he's really (like everybody) important for the team !

His legs are weak from banging so many hotties in the offseason.

I don't know why people are that worried about Parsons.

His production level and game performance are really about the same other than being in a slump with the 3 point shooting, which happens to even capable shooters. Battier had his famous slump in the post-season last year. Budinger had a month-long slump with the Rockets, too.

His usage rate, assist rate, rebound rate, 2 pt FG%, etc. are all about the same as before, it's just that his 3s have not been falling. It'll come.

Even if his shot is cold, I still like everything else he does on the floor.
