It is not players fault though. Jeremy and Asik are doing what they can.

I am not sure how Mchale can stagger their time when Harden is going to play 40+.

Agree... Lin should be appreciated for how he is handling the situation. He is very productive this season, no matter what is going on.

Money doesn't matter. Lin has much to lose as he isn't getting the valuable experience in closing out games that he needs to get in developing as a player. But yesterday may have just been McHale resting Lin. We'll see how it plays out with more games through the season.

So basically what you're saying is that the future is bright for the Rockets...once those contracts are done, we can apply that money to people that contribute when the game is on the line.

Lin is the third best player on the team this year. If he's coming off the bench he better get his minutes.

I am not against Lin coming off the bench but I think at this point, Mchale clearly doesn't favor Lin or like him because Lin did great on his defense and limited his turnover but Mchale still refuse to let him close the game as a starter last night.

Here is what went through my mind last night when it was clear Lin was probably not going to be back in. Oh *****. Some Lin fans are going to go nut

But seriously, I would too prefer that McHale put Lin back in. Lin absolutely deserve it in this game (and that's why McHale try to make it up but it came across as a LOL moment). But in this particular case, I can completely understand it. Lin got two quick back to back fouls on Matthew and sat. Harden came back. The game went pretty well after that for Houston. Bev seems to be as effective as Lin in there. There wasn't really a need to get Lin back in or to pull Bev. Now, if Bev was doing not too well; if their 3 guards line up were giving us problem, etcs... than yes, good reason to complain. In this case, HOU was doing well. On to the next game.

man I keep wondering when would FBI visit league office once again. or Stern can just declare it's a show just like WWE. if you ask me to pick one between them I'd rather pick WWE, when I was a kid Undertaker and The Rock are my favorite and I did tombstone to my cousin. And the priceless part make it so much better than NBA is, wrestlers can beat the crap outta those refs!!!:grin:

I believe that's McHale's opinion of Lin since last year. McHale feels Beverley is better; so, let it play out for the next twenty games and see how it goes. McHale may prove to be right, but I am hoping he will correct his mistake when he realizes he is wrong. Somehow, I think McHale will do whatever to prove he is right. It's the ego of a former star athlete. Everyone should just give McHale's decision to start Beverley a chance.

Ok, whatever excuses fit your narrative. I thought Lin did well offensively, but defensively he couldn't check Chris Paul, which I expected to happen even if the whistles weren't blowing. At some point you're going to have to acknowledge that Lin still has a way to go before he can become a good two-way player especially when he goes up against the elite PGs, like Chris Paul.

No one checks Chris Paul, period.

Its like asking someone to defend LeBron or Durant. Just doesn't happen. These folks are #1, #2 and #3 (Paul) in the NBA for a reason. Only thing that can be done is make him work hard for his shots, make him work hard on defense, and hope that team defense nullifies all the other players around him.

    That is not true.

He won't be shut down, but you can slow him down from putting on a perfect game like he did the other night.

I disagree. He played well enough on Paul who was on a role and got in foul trouble. He played great defense on Lilliard (rookie of the year), Calderon and Kemba Walker. Of course he has a way to go to become a star two-way player but he is more than a good two-way player right now. Also, Paul couldn't stop Lin from getting in front of him either and making plays. Someone put up a good video that showed that. Lin's defense is progressing well and that's what Lin is, a developing player.

He is free to question Jeremy Lin if he wants to. Doesn't have a single impact on him (Lin) whatsoever. As I have said in another thread, we are already witnessing a Jeremy Lin that is maturing into a very capable two-way guard. He will have a good career in the NBA, whether as part of this team or otherwise. The Rockets have a possible jewel in their hands, one that they have let slip of several times in the past, and they had to pay a steep price to get it back. If they fail to see his true value... then *shrug* their loss. We just cheer for them and for Lin as fans.....
