Given what has recently surfaced from cyberx and also what has been discussed this past summer on the Clutchfans Podcast, what would you guys be willing to give up for a guy like Lamarcus Aldridge? I know this all depends on how well or badly the Blazers, T'Wolves (Love), or to a lesser extent the Heat (Bosh) play. But would you be willing to include Chandler in any of these trades to acquire one of those forwards. If not, what would you be willing to give up for a true complimentary PF?
Like it or not, Parsons is NOT going to be moved. He was the biggest Dwight recruiter and there's the Fegan angle. From a player standpoint, I've always been in favor of trading him because his "best contract in the NBA" has an expiration date. Whereas max players' below market contracts continue for as long as they continue to be stars. But Parsons getting paid will be the cost of doing business unfortunately.
people always forget his salary, you would have to give up a lot more than just him to try and get another star
Parsons was instrumental in getting Howard here and he gets traded away? That's BULLSH. It's like shooting a person from the back. In Texas, that's punishable by death.
Obviously. The point is would you be willing to include him in order to facilitate a trade for a true star PF.
right now even though he's playing really bad id only give him up if it means were getting love in return
It's a hypothetical but Unless Portland already has Batum who's 2X as good as Parsons. I would actually trade Parsons for Batum straight up
Out of those 3 I would for Love, I would try my hardest to get LMA without giving up Parsons or and I would stay away g from Bosh! There are about maybe 20 to 25 NBA Players I would give him up for, not necessarily because he is the 25 best player but because he is probably the best contract in the NBA.
OP...for one of the PFs you mentioned, to say no would be truly r****ded. Unfortunately we would probably have to seal the deal by adding Asik, Garcia, or a few picks. I really really don't wanna move cisco though.
It's easier for me to say yes now that Cassipi/Garcia playing so well and parsons didn't show much(if any) progress from last season. And we are going to pay him big pretty soon.
he isn't going to be traded and if you have to add 3 or 4 other players, your gutting a good core of the team for a guy who would want to be a superstar
he isn't playing badly, he is doing everything but hit his threes, still averaging 13ppg 6rebs 3apg 1spg, pretty much his career averages
Here's the truth guys- When Morey shook hands (metaphorically or physically) with Fegan to solidify Dwight coming here to Houston there were strings attached. One of them was taking care of Chandler Parsons. You can call it a deal with the devil if you would like, but really they do love Parsons in the end, and I think they were more than happy to accept the fact that trading Parsons would most likely be out of question for many different reasons. Unless its to get a true superstar player, Chandler Parsons is not going to get traded... even then, it would still have to be a super elite superstar.... which teams aren't giving up for Chandler Parsons anyways at the end of the day. Does LMA qualify... its iffy, but probably not. He's an all-star, but on this team, he would be 3rd fiddle, and would have to sacrifice his role to win a championship. Good news is the Rockets have ALL of their draft picks to offset the need to trade him. Morey has bargaining chips if a team is insisting on getting more in the deal besides just Lin and/or Asik. Also if Canaan has a great showing in the D-League here in the next couple months, he could be a very sought after prospect in trade as well.
