Do you think it is rational to harass a teammate with racist comments and threaten him and his family? I respect the hell out of someone who took that from someone and is able to walk away from it without having to use force to bring a resolution to the situation.
What kind of argument is that? We all know Incognito is a major douche and has a few screw loose somewhere. With that being said, it even warrants for Martin to act a lot quicker than he did.
But he didn't handle it like a man...now his career is over his family loses millions . . . His kids don't get the better life chances....because he didn't handle it like a man.
Jonathan Martin has a long productive NFL career ahead of him. Richie Incognito will probably never suit up again.
I agree with on douchebag never plays another down because of the PR nightmares. Martin on the other hand I'm not so sure, the stuff that's coming out of the locker rooms indicates most owners and players do not want Martin on their teams.
http://bustedcoverage.com/2013/11/04/richie-incognito-bullying-jonathan-martin-on-twitter/ How did they go from hanging out and having seemingly light hearted exchanges on social media to this? I'm well aware that people can portray themselves however they want on social media, and for all we know Martin just played along so not to upset Incognito, but something is fishy about this whole thing. Maybe rookie hazing just went to far, Martin flipped out over it and that infuriated Incognito. It sounds like something they should have had a face to face with in house and never let it go public...now it's turning into some big bully scandal when it was probably just hazing gone wrong.
Nothing in that article leads me to believe that they had any kind of positive or normal relationship, or that it would be strange that their relationship was as messed up as it turned out to be. You answered your own question in your post. You think it's weird that over the span of 18 months they had a few non-heinous twitter moments? Given what we know now, the nickname "big weirdo" doesn't seem to be all that endearing, honestly. As for "going along with it", that falls pretty much in line with everything Martin did up to this point... including paying him 15 grand just to leave him alone (if for a weekend).
I'm sure Incognito did messed up stuff but the biggest problem I have is that only after Martin left did all this evidence suddenly pop-up. If it was ongoing, why didn't all this stuff come out earlier? It seems that people will only pile on when it's out in the open rather than bringing it up when it's not known.
I'm quite sure there have been much less endearing nicknames given inside of locker rooms in the NFL. My guess is Martin played nice because he wanted to get along, and Richie sounds like a guy that might be jovial and friendly at times but can easily be set off.
That they'd never, ever be able to use in public. Richie sounds like a psychopath. Psychopaths tend to put up a good front. Not shocking at all.
Think again bud. The Redskins could use the services of Jonathon Martin for sure and Brian Orakpo commented today that childish crap like this you're hearing out of Miami doesn't happen in their locker room. Other teams with weaknesses at tackle would give Martin a shot.
Bullies always run into bigger bullies and always lose in the end. Goodbye Icognito - and good riddance. DD
That remains to be seen. On the surface they may say that for the PR, but in the locker rooms it's a whole different language.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...cognito-i-would-have-busted-him-in-his-mouth/ Redskins would take him .
