I get it-- you're butthurt. It's probably not fair for me to be picking on you tonight. I bet you had your whole night planned around seeing the Rockets whoop the garbage Clippers and.. well, yeah. And CP3 with another masterpiece, just picking apart all the seams in your defense (which, admittedly, was mostly porous). So let's just bag on him for not getting past the second round, which is so ironic since your namesake couldn't even get past the first round LOL! As a Clipper fan, I don't really care what Paul did in NOH. I've watched him for two years here in LA and he's fantastic, not only someone who has changed the culture around here but is hella fun to watch too (damn that move on Lin tonight!) And in two years, with Paul we've advanced as far as we ever have (round 2), which is a great start. I fully expect to go further now with a better team and a much better coach. To assume that because Paul has never been further due to his style is so naive and typical of a casual fan, because it completely discounts all of the variables that go into winning, including teammates, matchups, and luck. The same arguments have been made all throughout history-- I remember even back in the 80s people saying how Jordan would never win because he was a ballhog, something repeated ad nauseum as he was bounced time and time again early in the playoffs. Then he got some teammates and a better coach and suddenly he's the GOAT. Or if you want a more recent example, let's look at LeBron. Or let's not, because maybe you don't hate him like you do CP3.
Didn't catch the game tonight. But no man, I'm just laughing about how pwhipped you are with CP3. Your favorite player has never won anything of any significance. Your franchise has been the laughing stock of the Nba for years and you come out of the woodworks after a second round appearance. Go to another forum. Once again you attack my username after the fact that I claim that Mcgrady is a wimp with no heart. The Rockets will beat the Clips in 5 and put the Clips back in to the place they belong, "irrelevance". Go to the Clipper forum where y'all can go circle jerk all the way to a second round exit. Ironic that CP3's playoff success is similar to the Clippers history, unfulfilling. Match made in heaven:
Hahaha you are sooo mad! I'm loving it! I'm sure my overexuberance is annoying but I'm just giddy from making a bundle on the spread tonight. Also, the fact that the Clippers have a poor history and the Rockets have a good one is irrelevant to your fandom (unless you are a bandwagoner), because, as fans, we have no bearing on the outcome of the games. I promise, James Harden doesn't even know who you are!
Nah I'm just playing. clippy I mostly like you and I don't blame you for defending "your" team but I probably would've just avoided these forums altogether to avoid getting drawn into any pointless internet squabbles. Let them vent.
they beat us but lol if you think they'll win the ship they will choke in the playoffs like always cpgay cant handle the pressure keep dreaming though
Considering yall scored the most points in 4 years against us, I think it is safe to assume this is not the typical Clipper performance, thus extensive conclusions cannot be drawn from it. Safe to say?
Actually if ESPN stats is correct nobody has scored 137 against the Rockets since 1991 which is 22 years. What's scarier is that our starters were all pulled with about 5 minutes left. It could have easily been something like 150 which may have been a franchise record given up.
Lol please go clean your mouth from the clippers straps. The reason you guys played so well was 1. Howard foul trouble 2. Harden's TERRIBLE defense 3. All your flopping With all that said we were their the whole game, and would cut the lead short every-time.
As much as I love our team there's no way we're beating the Clips in a 7 game series. To keep it real, I think they have better home court and CP3 is a known Rockets killer, and it becomes worse in the playoffs. Yes I agree he flops, but 23, 17 is ridiculous and I think he has the potential to be the greatest pg ever to play. As both teams stand now, they'll beat us 4-2 or 4-1.
And barring injury they're coming out of the West this year. Not because they're an excellent team, but because they're deep in a relatively weak Western conference with an excellent coach who knows what it takes to go deep in the playoffs.
Whistles are swallowed. Adjustments are made. And shooters are going to be hugged on as the team will force CP3 to do everything. You can't count on Harden and Howard to be in foul trouble every game, nor Harden to play so bad. The Clips would win 2 games max.
Honestly the matchup looks good on paper, but I just don't see us beating them. And there's no guarantee Asik stays on our team past February. If we trade him for a great PF, then yea that changes things. But idk I just don't see us beating them.
I do not mean this in a rude way, but why are you on this forum if you are a Clippers fan? I havent been here as long as you so I am not sure the reason if it was ever brought up. I honestly am really curious.
So much butthurt in the last couple of pages. So many people have clowned the Clippers for decades, and even yesterday afternoon in the game thread, people piling on the Blake Show when all he was doing was supporting his team. Clippy has been here over a decade, when the Clips were still a pitiful joke, and now his team is finally a contender, and people are trying to find excuses for why they destroyed us last night? People are so quick to say that other team's fans overrate their own players, while we have threads in the GARM debating whether or not Parsons is an all star, or can some random bench player on our team reach unrealistic expectations. And before someone says, "well why don't they go to a Clipper forum, etc.," Clutchfans is one of the best forums around, that's probably why they're here. Tons of activity and basketball discussion.
I came to this forum a long time ago to discuss a game (I think it was when the Clippers had rising young talent with Odom/Miles/Brand.. guess that didn't work out lol). We had a good discussion so I stuck around. There was some common Laker hatred in the NBA board so I bonded with some users over that (sadly all of the Laker trolls seem to have disappeared now that their team sucks.. which is a big difference between Laker and Clipper fans btw). I participate on the main Clipper forum too, but honestly I think it's more fun to discuss things with people who have different opinions. Like seeing this guy hate on CP3, I have to wonder what his motivations are. You won't get that on a Clipper board because the fans are enamored with him.
The Rockets would do better against the Clippers if they slowed the game down and took advantage of their size, but it seems like they are going for a run & gun style similar to GSW and the Clippers. I just don't see them winning a battle like that, because the Clippers are really constructed for that type of game, not only with all of their new shooters but also because their bigmen are so good in transition (unlike Howard & Asik). But the season is really so young and we have no idea how things will play out as far as injuries, rotations, and adjustments.
I don't hate CP3 at all. I think he is a great player. He annoys me because he flops so much. My argument has been vague in the since that yes he can win a ring, but not when he has the ball in his hands that much. If he is going to win a ring he needs to become more of a scorer. Last night he was incredible, but it took great shooting nights from Reddick/Dudley and piss poor effort from Harden/Parsons. I just don't see them beating the Rockets in the playoffs. Last night I compared the Clips to the Suns in the 2000's albeit a little worse as a team.
