They guy had actually played pretty well since the titans game. He was 11 for 12 before Sunday night. And it's not like any of the guys they're bringing in are major improvements. Most kickers who are out of work right now are out of work for a reason. You can't just go out on the street to find Adam Vinatieri.

Rugland is too flashy.... too foreign... and not a Clay Walker fan. Bob wants someone that he can add to his lunch posse that goes to Olive Garden every Thursday..... Gary will be out of commission for awhile and Wade and Dennison are not enough.... so the kicker will need to take Gary's Olive Garden obligations.... This is a serious issue in Texans organization..... Bob brought it to Rick's attention and it will be solved.... Bullock is too young and fat.... Bob likes fit, vanilla lunch partners....
it's clear that pressure games get to Bullock's head. He missed in SD to win but was saved by the icing of the kicker, he missed the GW vs Tennessee in regulation. the Texans go on a losing streak where most games are blowouts and you see Bullock kick well because it doesn't matter and the pressure is off. On sunday night, the Texans actually have the lead and look what happens, bullock chokes.
Did Indy have any TO left? I was actually hoping they tried to ice the kicker, but obviously Pagano did his homework and let him have at it the first time, without a practice swing.
He literally has the worst FG % of any kicker since 1985 who had 20 or more attempts in the first 8 games of a season. I think they can improve on the worst through 8 games since 1985.
They probably can, but I sure hope they don't. No reason to start winning games now. Losing to the Colts blew the season up for good.
And there's a fair point...but I doubt seriously the decision-makers whose jobs are on the line see it that way right now
I rooted for the Texans to end up with the #1 pick the Mario (Bush) year, but, with still 8 games to go and us not being in the running for the #1 pick (where there's no clear-cut #1 anyway), the draft being deep, and being on a stress-inducing 6-game losing streak, there's just no way in hell/not any reason to root for them to lose. They can always trade up if there's a specific player they want. Football is a different breed than other sports. With game a week for 16 weeks, with much of the city devoting their entire Sundays to it...there's too much pride on the line each game. Losses depress the whole city, and wins uplift it. There's more value in individual wins in football than postseason implications.
