When everyone thought he would get traded he came in and got the job done in extremely limited minutes.

6-6 from the floor for 12 points and seven boards, and an exceptionally high PER.
We remember dearly how he had 21 points against the Lakers and former teammate Dwight.
That was one hell of a statement.

We should have left him in for the rest of the game. Him and Casspi, who knows maybe we win.

Yay for Greg. I like him.

I reckon McHale should use him more than he does.

Here's Greg's interview after our win vs. Clippers (98-81) from last March 30, 2013. Love his attitude!

i like smith he is the best pick and roll big on this team, and will catch the ball and finish at the rim. He sets good screens and will roll hard. He has real good hands, only problem is his fouling which he can improve on still a young player.

lol Dwight is 100x better than Smith at the Pick n Roll. If you watch closely almost every time Dwight sets a screen something very good developes out of it. greg had a good game yesterday but calling him the best pick n roll big on this team is blasphemy.

Dwight is the best PnR big man on the team, unfortunately he doesn't like/want to play that role. It was a travesty that Smith only got 9 minutes last night.

I think if anything Greg definitely earned some big minutes to be the power forward of this team and spot minutes for the Center position

Impressed with Greg Smith's last night performance!
If he can avoid the fouls, he will be an asset to our Team!:)

Smith does some valuable things. The problem is that he is either a center with crappy rim protecting skills or a PF with no shooting range. So, this makes it harder to use him on this team and other teams.

This description makes me think of Chuck Hayes, LOL.
I think Smith is a good guy to have on the bench for a contending team. Gave solid minutes last night.

Dwight's also better at turning the ball over on multiple possessions

Our first several games we try to establish Dwight in the low post early on. His back to the basket game is definitely not his strength and it stunts our offense. I would rather start off with a heavy dose of Pick and Roll try to get the opponent's bigs in foul trouble. All the while getting others involved in the offense and then when we have a rhythm and we post Dwight.

Greg Smith reminds me a lot of Dwight on the offensive end, he just doesn't have the defense which is a problem. However when we are not stopping the other team and our offense isn't clicking, I would rather see pick and roll offense. Smith will play the high percentage PR while Dwight will demand the ball in the low post. That is why I was excited to see Smith come in, because he plays to his strength.

Smith brought the energy and the offensive rebounding during what could be called any resemblance of a comeback..

and then he disappeared onto the bench for the rest of the night...

Obviously, Smith's game has a lot of flow. He has no offensive game 12 feet away from the basket, but so are Howard & Asik, He can score with some post up moves when near the basket, which neither Howard, nor Asik can say.

His major problem is his defense. But his activities around the basket was tremendous last night, I'm still confused why McHale pulled him out, while Howard & Asik couldn't do a thing.

He started off slow and people were quick to get rid of him forgetting that he missed most of preseason due to injury. His play has gotten better but of course he still has a lot to improve, but he's a solid guy to have coming off of your bench.

He should get more spin, especially if Rox defense is clicking. Dwight's the better rollman and post player but I've seen enough Lin-Smith pick and rolls and football passes to know that's a dangerous tandem.

Hate to mention, but after preseason most of you were like ''let's cut him, he's worthless''. And now you cheering?
