I actually disagree. The superstar sets the tone of a game. JH must show interests in defense by setting an example. If you watched the game, you will know Redick went off with JH guarding him. Then coach switched him on Dudley and then Duhley went off.

Not sure what I said that was wrong? Hell, REEKO agrees with me.

That's fair. Garcia has been the most consistent player we've had these last 4games, looks like.

    So true.

We would've really had a chance with a Bev-Jeremy-Harden-Chandler-Dwight lineup.
I miss small-ball. Get well soon Patrick.

The only way Beverley would have helped is because they can try to play small ball (Howard, Parsons, Harden, Lin, Beverley)....but this will mean Parsons having to deal with Blake. I'd like to just call this game a "fluke" in that Clippers shots were just falling left and right in the first half......if the next game this week is the same than Houston has a real big problem.

Apologies if I read/interpreted your post incorrectly. It seemed like you were saying Harden should have been criticized as though he had not been... I was only pointing out that he had been harshly criticized for pages and pages and pages (deservedly).

Did you see the fouls called against him? I think it was more home cooking and crappy refs. Same thing happened to Dwight. Crap calls. Is Dwight inexperienced?

Ya, that's true. Well, we get more rebounds and D but give up some O. The O of the starting unit would probably be worse with Bev. McHale is overrating the offensively abilities of Howard and put everything on Harden's shoulder. His experimentation is coming back to haunt him.

I don't believe in such things that the tone has to be set by your superstar player...that's why every team has a player whose sole purpose is to play perimeter defense...nearly every single championship team. (Either way elite defense is what we have Asik and Dwight for)

That's Beverly. It doesn't matter if he is or isn't a better defender than Lin. As Kenny and Charles and them would say...He's the dog of the team.

Also no, He wasn't even always on Redick for the entire game. I also hate this mind stuff to say he wasn't interested or trying when I see him running into screens and closing out on open shooters. It's not that he wasn't trying, it's that he was playing badly.

Did you see Wesley Johnson guard Blake? Parsons may be able to get away with it next game :p

No. Paul had some good assists, but a lot of them were just hitting the open man who was burying his shot. Lin could have had 12/13 assists if guys hit their shots. Lin made some more impressive assists than Paul in this game. Sometimes it isn't the number, sometimes you have the see the assists and I thought some of Lin's were more impressive than Paul's. Lin is not Paul, but Lin could have had more assists with a better game plan and guys knocking down shots and not missing gimmies.

Yeah Harden does guard 3s better than 2s because he is a bull and would rather get physical then run around screens which is what Doc Rivers had JJ Redick do

It doesn't actually bog down the offense if the coach is smart enough to set picks when running twin towers. I thought this is just common *****ing sense. Look at the UTA game start of 1st quarter twin towers vs. start of 3rd quarter twin towers. It's basketball 101 on how to create spacing inside with two traditional bigs. Indulge Howard's stupid post ups when Asik goes to the bench.

This is why McHale is a goddarn idiot. Even when he stumbles upon a common sense solution by accident and it blatantly works, he's not paying enough attention. McHale "experiments" a lot, but he never pays a lick of attention to the actual experimental results: The dude just sees what he wants to see.

I think those two quick fouls on Howard disrupted part of this game plan. I concur that the Clippers is a team that you do need to slow the game down. This type of game is where Howard should get a ton of touches....you can see that he could easily power his way in (though missed a few easy dunks). 9 touches is way too few for him tonight.

I believe JH deserves the harsh critism, not just for this game. For one, he is the superstar and this is supposed to be his team. If he does't play defense, we can kiss the championship hope goodbye. It is simply hard to win playing 4 on 5 no matter how many PBs you have on the team if JH does not play defense. Period.

In one call, he tripped CP3. In another call, he did touch CP3 when CP3 was in the air. Those are the fouls that I siad Lin should learn to avoid. You can say that sometimes refs do not call those fouls but what Lin can control and should do is not to give the refs any reason.

Yeah, because playing against Collison and Mullens off the bench = playing vs. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.

Man, that game sucked watching as a Rocket fan. I was so pumped to watch my new look beloved Rockets tonight at the Staples Center in LA. Instead, they fall flat against the Clippers. Can't wrap around my head whether it was poor play by Harden and Howard or if the Clippers just them down. So disappointed. Fawk
