So they hired Mooch's best friend and one of Obama's top donors to create the website and now they are hiring him to fix it. Yeah CRONYISM!

Would you rather have him hire Ron Pau'ls buddies who would just use it as a golden opportunity to show that government always *****s up?

How about they hire a firm based on their ability to the job well and not because of their political connections?

I'm thinking some people around here have no idea how an RFP works.

I do. We deal with them all of the time in my industry. And they are pre-determined about 50% of the time regarding who will win.

But this goes on with both parties (helping big donors)...nothing new to see here and not breaking news

I do and there are plenty of ways to technically disqualify a proposal (besides price). No idea if any of that transpired here. But I would like to see campaign funding reform. Both sides grant more access and favorable positions in administrations to big donors. This has been going on for a long time but it needs to be fixed. The system caters to money.

Because this is virtually impossible with an industry as large and heavily regulated as health care. Is UHG not big in the South, I would think more people know of them as a pretty large HMO with fully functioning web services.

why not hire one of those silicon valley types that was all over his testicular sack prior to the election?

O thats bc none of them had college ties to michelle obama

what's even funnier is zuckerberg built facebook in his dorm room and its probably a helluva lot more complex than anything on healthcare.gov

the government is just a hilarious trainwreck now, even poor people are starting to see it. I was at dinner and paid with the new $100 bill and the waiter hadn't seen one yet and he said," im suprised it doesn't have obama on it"

    LMAO

    Request for Proposal

Basically its a request for companies or businesses to bid on a job.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Request_for_proposal

To think that the Obama admin pours through these bids (in this case to build the website) to make the decision is ridiculous. These decisions are made mainly at the the procurement level.

This is exactly why I vote straight Republican tickets, they never play favorites with campaign donors.

Yeah, it was only a total embarrassment when it didn't work and that spurred congressional hearings. I'm sure they left it at the procurement level and had no involvement. Are you really that blind?

And good Haliburton call to the other poster!
