They moved the Sixers from worst to first in one week. Rockets are third.

THEY ARE WEEKLY POWER RANKINGS, lol. Do you guys watch basketball?? Of course the Sixers are high they the Heat for goodness sake, now if this were a playoff prediction then it would be stupid but its not, it is basically saying they did good the past week.

Beating the best two teams in the east does that 6ers beat the Heat and the Bulls.

Philly beat the Heat and Bulls, they deserve the number 1 ranking this week.

I agree, they really did earn the top spot with their accomplishments this week. Their record probably has as a lot to do with teams taking them for granted but I have to admit they have impressed me this week. Great job Sam Hinkie!!!!!!

Come on, really Yahoo? Worst to first?

I could see moving the Sixers up to #15 or so, but FIRST?

    LOL.

Why not? Throw Sixers fan a bone. This is likely gonna be the high point of the season for that team. And they did beat the two best teams in the East(outside of the Pacers).

They only did it so they could put a team at 30 one week and have them move 29 spots to 1. How many times would that ever happen?

I used to like Hollinger's power ranking from ESPN with no B*S* subjective opinion. Now Marc Stein's version obviously includes his own views.

Yahoo's standing is more like ranking how many games the teams had won in the past week, not ranking the "power" of the teams.

Meh, they beat the Heat and the Bulls and the Wiz were thought by some to be as high as a 5th-6th seed in the East.

The best part of those rankings is the breakdown of the Nuggets:

Check the Dallas caption: "including a close loss to the Rockets."

These guys obviously just check box scores. That game was not close at all. Jae Crowder's attempt to duplicate t-Marc's 13 in 33 seconds made it look like a game instead of the beat down that it was

Yeah. Our point differential would have been huge if not for Crowder's heroic.

if we beat the bulls and heat fans would be going crazy saying we for sure coming out the west & would be pissed if we were not first on this list... double standard ?

    west in no order
    spurs
    rockets
    Timberwolves
    blazers
    thunder
    warriors
    mavericks
    clippers

grizzlies won’t make the playoffs this year, that half court slow offense is not going to work this year in the run and gun west. Mchale needs to understand that also, we need to stick to that fast pace ball, half court offense will be going against our biggest strength. But of course have the half court plays ready and a team understanding that can execute them for when we do need them as a balance and for playoffs
