I agree. The few UH games I watched were really fun on the offensive side because of him and their OC. This young man is a damn solid QB.

Texans have many positions to fix next draft and in the off-season, but I strongly Keenum isn't one of them. We have a greater need for a kicker, ILB/OLB, safety, and a RB.

I don't know if i find this funny because it's ridiculous or because it's true.

Honestly despite our woes, I'm still excited for this season. I love watching Case play. You can feel the energy he brings. He's fearless. Some of his throws today were stupid good. Hitting guys deep off of his back foot?? Are you kidding me???

I'm honestly not even mad. I should be, but i'm not. Case is very well (excuse the pun) making a case to be our guy going forward. What was a crazy pipe dream a few weeks ago is becoming a reality.

I honestly thought best case scenario: he does some good things, shows a little potential, maybe earns the starting job.
He's shown some GREAT things and definitely earned the starting spot. He's provided a huge moral boost for the team and i'm sure the whole franchise and fan base.
Plus it's not like he's doing it during cupcake games, he's doing it with key injuries throughout the roster against really good teams in big games.

I'm really excited to see how he progresses this year.

A lot of your solutions have to deal with draft picks. And the GM and his scouting have only shown an ability to find day 1 starters in the 1st round. Everybody else they go for is a prospect whose 2-3 year ceiling seems to be "competent rotation player."

No need to troll the case fan club bigtexxx. Case got us in FG range with 44 secs and no timeouts. I disagree that he made a mistake in not spiking the ball. If he spikes the ball the defense gets set. Case was in a groove and felt that he had a better chance to move the ball with the defense on its heels.

Keenum has won over Nick Wright on 610.
I wonder if the King of Douchebags Josh Enis will finally give him some credit.

I'm a big Case fan. Please don't get me wrong. I actually liked the guy even when he was at UH (and I'm one of the biggest Rice fans around...). I just thought the end of the past two games showed some areas for improvement. That's all. Based on what I've seen so far, Case seems like the heir apparent for the future QB role. He's done very well overall so far, just some room to improve at the ends of games.

i too thought Case should of spiked it on that last drive. it could have saved at least 10 seconds, enough time to run another play to try and get closer.

I understand why Case is not getting the credit he deserves, we lost. A loss is a loss, but can you imagine what the game would have been like without him. I am guessing a 20 point blow out. I promise, Case is no longer a "well kept secret." The NFL football community now see what some of you don't. He is going to be a starter here or elsewhere. I can't ever remember a rookie QB being put in the situations that he has and performing like he did. Ever. And given a bit more flexibility and experience, he will get better. The Texan's brain trust may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but they are likely way ahead of some of the chronic naysayers on this board.

It maybe could have saved 8 seconds at the expense of a 14 yard reception to AJ which put us in FG range. Then I guess you propose running another play to try to get us further in range and risked either a sack or a tackle in the middle of the field. The odds were not in our favor and i don't question his decision to go for it there at all...something i'm sure Schaub would not have decided to do (i'm positive we can all agree on that)

I agree there are things which Case needs to improve upon moving forward (especially experience in late game situations) but that comes with reps in the moment. To expect anymore than what he's delivered in the last 2 games is not rational.

The only mistake I saw from Case last night was his clock management at the end of the 4th quarter. We lost the 2 minute warning because he was a little slow getting a play off, IIRC. And I point this out to point something else out... if you have a 2nd year QB making his 2nd ever start (on national TV against a great team), and THIS is the biggest mistake he makes (something that veteran QBs and coaches screw up routinely) then you are in FINE shape.

And even if Case manages to get the 2 minute warning; there's no guarantee that chunky trunks hits the FG from 40ish yards anyway.

At that point you're assuming you are going for it on forth down but it was a 4th & 11 backed in your own terrority. I'm sure he was thinking he was going to get a shot to go for it on 4th down if that get a complete pass on third down.
