Brooks might be the single worst defensive guard in the league. Lin is a good defender. Don't spew nonsense.

With TT in the paints, if Bev is around, it's going to be trouble for cp3 to score. Swapping in Lin, CP3 gonna get his 10pts.

It's going to be very physical inside the paints. Crawford, Reddick and Dudley are going to be their main weapons. Harden/CP25 and GarTRIa's performance on both ends is going to be crucial.

Teams have scored on floppers avg 110+ per game, I predict a 120+ for rox!

    Smoke the floppers!

We got this, they will have absolutely no inside play with howard and asik in there. So, if paul score 45 points, who cares.

Hmm, that would be an interesting strategy. Get Chris Paul to beat us alone. Clog the paint, let him shoot all the 3s he want?

Sorry, but you are bordering on delusional if you think Brooks can defend CP3. Brooks is by far the worst defender of the 3 PG's. Add on top of that that his shot has been way off, and he's a dodgy facilitator and you just end up with a black hole at the 1 spot.

CP3 is arguably the best PG in the NBA. Nobody is shutting him down 1v1 especially in the PnR, whether that's Lin or Beverley. You slow down CP3 with team defense.

AB should get relief minutes at best at the 2 spot and let Harden and Lin handle the PG duties, with Lin handling defense on CP3.

As for Beverley vs CP3, CP3 won't be bothered by Beverley's on ball defense (he's played against far better) and would most likely get Beverley into foul trouble very quickly.

You don't beat CP3 with on-ball defense. You beat him with smart positional defense and more importantly strong PnR/help defense/trapping.

Seriously, as good an on-ball defender as Beverley is, I think people are seriously overestimating his defensive ability. Talking like he's going to shut down Elite PG's like CP3, Tony Parker and co. borders on crazy talk.

Not to worry, AB would just stick to CP3 like GLUE!

I havent seen much mention about our assists. So far there is been a dramatic drop from last year, where we averaged about 25 per game. This year it's about 16 to 17. It's a bit worrying, i hope it's only because the lack of chemistry or players tendency to go ISO in the begining.

Could be due to the number of post-ups by DH as well. As far as I know, unless the post-up player makes a move to the basket right away the scorekeeper would not count those as assists. So for the most part, the typical DH post-up, then dribble moves resulting in a basket would not count as an assist for the passer.

Well this will be our first real test to see how good we are along this season so far. To start the season, we've played terrible. Hopefully mentally the rockets are ready for a team like the clippers

But it's not as if Howard's been dominating in the post. Did you see him last night? He looked awful there.

True but the more post-ups, the less other plays that could be garnered for natural assists.

The trick to beating the Clippers is to take care of the ball and don't let them out-rebound you. Both of their wins they have more than +10 rebounding advantage and a heavy advantage in steals/turnovers as well.

Rebounding will not be a problem for us, so the game will likely be decided by how well we can take care of the ball.

Last season when the rockets blew out the clippers at the TC, the refs pretty much took the clippers out of the game in the first quarter. I know the rox usually get the short end when it comes to reffing, but in that game, they helped us out big time.

I think the key is Howard-Asik. D12 was terrible in the first half (as was everyone except for CP25) but I expect the best center in the nba to dominate against a young and inexperienced front court like kanter and favors (albeit they are very talented).

Give it to D12 in the post and let Griffin get into foul trouble as he tries to outjump D12 and go for the block. DJordan can largely be ignored...most overrated big in the game.

My biggest worry is Crawford. No one on the bench can stay with him - AB is too small.

Our interior defense is so much better than theirs that we should be able to take them. However, this is in their house, so that evens things up and maybe even gives them a slight advantage.

We'll see. I think we can win this game and keep the streak alive, but we'll see.

I predict a high scoring game (naturally).

    Rockets 121
    Clippers 115

    Will watch every second,
though it will be 3am here...

    Go Rockets!

Lakers beat this team by shooting lights out from the 3 pt line. The Rockets will have to do the same to get this one. CP3 will do his thing just keep the rest of the Clippers from having a big game.

    Outta Luck My Dude

it most certainly will be blocked on nbatv. only abc, tnt, and espn dont get blacked out locally. league pass and nbatv both get blacked out here in houston. luckily i have comcast and for you, i know there are many bars and restaurants that have comcast and will be showing the game. just do a google search of who is playing it around where you live.
