Well no doubt the addition of Dwight makes you guys far more capable of ugly/grinding type wins. Just saying... people here are talking like this is the 04 Pistons defense here. Not a single opponent has been an elite offensive one like the Clippers are... THAT will reveal the defense far more. Clippers still haven't meshed or gotten the system down but if you guys can shut them down, obviously that means the defense is promising.

Mavs are a playoff calibre team.

no you literally have to get rid of Deandre Jordan for a defensive anchor like a Tyson Chandler who will rebound and protect the rim

this year's seeding for the Western Conference is very intriguing. You have the Timberwolves and Mavs doing good while the Grizzlies are doing bad. Who will stay and who will be booted

They will be fighting for the 8 seed if lucky, wouldn't call them a good team necessarily, until I see more. Although the point that a team as talented as yours hasn't been truly tested stands. You expect to get any analysis from your team playing far inferior competition? That's not a good way to go about it.

You learn the most when observing what your team does against similarly or more talented teams, not ones that you can overwhelm while playing pretty mediocre.

DeAndre Jordan has been excellent this year, don't need to get rid of him. Need to get him a MUCH better backout than Byron Mullens who allows a bucket every time down the floor. DeAndre is an elite rim protector and a very good rebounder with a career PER 36 rebounding of 11 per game and very very good rebounding rates/percentages. Hell the man just grabbed 17 boards against Bogut/Lee the other night.

    Well that is fair.

Either way this is a toss up game (the first for the Rockets) and without Beverly I don't know. Beverly means a lot to this team as a spark and energy and Brooks is like the anti-beverly. He doesn't move the ball well, looks for his own, and plays 0 defense.

I think this is a game that Dwight has to play big for the Rockets to win.

I don't know who to pick BTW. The Rockets worry me a lot primarily because of Dwight. Last year I knew once we tightened up the D we had a very good chance of winning... but if Dwight is smart enough to be aggressive on offense and get DJ into foul trouble early... he's going for 40 on Byron Mullens.

My hope is that the refs let both teams play physical and not blow whistles nonstop.

I agree that this game should be the best match up so far, but the season is still young and any one game can go either way.

I just checked out the box scores on the Clippers first 3 games - what happened in that 4th quarter against the Lakers?

Don't even ask lol. We played down the them 3 quarters but always had the lead.. but come 4th quarter we inexplicably looked like we didn't give a fu**. The Lakers got like 9 offensive rebounds and hit 8 threes in the 4th. Just one of those games where the inferior team wanted it a lot more. They came out motivated clearly to prove in their mind that somehow they are still the better LA team.

Short answer... they played harder and hit a ton of 3's in the 4th quarter.

This will be a very good game for the rockets. Their first real test of how they can handle a tougher opponent.

As for Beverley, I don't think he could do much vs CP3 or other guards of that calibur. When he was facing Tony Parker, all Bev could do was just chase him around screens.

That's a really good strategy instead of iso plays

    Exciting game night.

This is the first encounter with another contender, IMHO.

It was great to see Parsons back with a vengeance last night.

I believe we can take those clippers down.

    Go Rockets!

Rockets are a scary team to be sure though. Mainly because you never know who's going to kill you. Could be Dwight, could be Parsons, could be Harden.. so how do you game plan?

bev means no ab0. ab0 has been a big 0 on defense. If he gets any min against cp3, it won't bw pretty

Well, that's only true if we don't play "sticky ball".

I was just glancing at the Clipper's team stat of 26.7 APG - that's sick. I'm also hoping that the game isn't too close and ends up as an XO chess game between Doc Rivers and McHale.

Looking forward to solid rebounding from the Twin Towers and some guard penetration from HardLin to give us the edge.

Whatever happens, I expect this to be an exciting match.

This will most likely be our first loss, if not the next game Tuesday at Portland.

Gonna be a touch matchup for us, we aren't playing well despite our record, and we commit too many turnovers.

Am looking forward to seeing how we look against a quality opponent however.
